PRESS RELEASE

APC WARD 9 ABBI INAUGURATES NEW EXECUTIVES: A NEW COVENANT OF INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP

Today marks another historic milestone in the political life of Ward 9 Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) formally inaugurated its newly elected Ward Executives at the Party Secretariat.

The ceremony was not merely procedural; it was symbolic, a solemn covenant between leadership and the people, a reaffirmation that democracy at the grassroots must be participatory, transparent, and inclusive.

The newly elected executives, ably led by Chairman Comrade Kenneth Akudu, were all present and were formally reaffirmed by authentic and respected leaders of the ward, including Chief Spino and Comrade Egiliga Mgbakili. Their presence signified continuity, stability, and legitimacy. Also in attendance were elected LGA party executives such as Comrade Ibobo Ejime and Mr. Eminent, further strengthening the bond between ward and local government leadership structures.

The atmosphere of the inauguration reflected unity and vitality. Over 150 women, more than 50 men, and a vibrant presence of youths filled the Secretariat, underscoring the broad-based support and renewed confidence in the party’s direction. The gathering was peaceful, orderly, and filled with enthusiasm, a testament to the maturity and political consciousness of Ward 9 Abbi.

Though unavoidably absent due to engagements in Abuja, the host and consistent supporter of the ward, Hon. Valentine Oyemike, sent a warm goodwill message to the gathering. His spirit of generosity and solidarity was evident as he made refreshments available and supported the traditional kola nut presentation with a significant financial contribution, a gesture equally complemented by Chief Spino, Comrade Egiliga Mgbakili, and members of the newly inaugurated executive. The symbolic breaking of kola nut served as a reminder that leadership is a shared responsibility rooted in culture, respect, and unity.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Comrade Kenneth Akudu assured party faithful of a transparent and accountable administration. He pledged that under his watch, the affairs of the ward would be managed with integrity, consultation, and fairness. His words resonated with calm confidence, reinforcing the trust reposed in him by the people.

The Secretary, Chief Ifeanyi Kingsley Enuenwosu, popularly known as “Sen Rich Kay” and fondly called “Onu Osa,” delivered a stirring message that electrified the audience. He boldly declared that the era where empowerment opportunities are monopolized or diverted at the top is over. He assured members that benefits meant for the grassroots would henceforth reach the grassroots directly, promising a structure where inclusion replaces exclusion and fairness overrides favoritism. His commitment drew loud applause and heartfelt rejoicing from women and men alike who expressed deep trust in his personality and track record.

The charge to the new executives was clear: for the next four years, they must lead with open doors, open books, and open hearts. Leadership must not be selective but collective; not distant but accessible. The ward expects governance that listens, mobilizes, empowers, and unites.

Today’s inauguration therefore stands as more than a ceremony. It represents a renewed social contract, one built on trust, responsibility, and shared vision. Ward 9 Abbi has once again demonstrated that grassroots democracy remains the foundation upon which lasting political success is built.

With unity as its strength and inclusiveness as its guiding philosophy, APC Ward 9 Abbi moves confidently into a new chapter.

Long live Ward 9 Abbi.
Long live Ndokwa West.
Long live Delta State.
Long live the All Progressives Congress.

WARD CONGRESS

A DAWN OF RENEWED LEADERSHIP: APC WARD 9 ABBI HOLDS SUCCESSFUL CONGRESS

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 9 Abbi, Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State, joyfully announces the successful conduct of its Ward Congress held on 18/02/2026 in alignment with the nationwide directive of the party.

At the sacred chamber of democratic order, the Ward Party Secretariat, twenty-seven (27) executives were duly elected in a process marked by unity, transparency, and collective resolve. This was not merely an election of officers; it was the reaffirmation of faith in participatory democracy and the strengthening of grassroots leadership.
Comrade Kenneth Akudu emerged as Chairman, entrusted with the noble responsibility of guiding the ward with courage and fairness. Chief Ifeanyi Enuenwosu (Sen. Rich Kay) was elected Secretary, symbolizing the bridge between wisdom and administrative discipline. Comrade Richard Echi was returned as Publicity Secretary, a testament to continuity, credibility, and confidence in his service. Alongside them, other committed party members were elected to complete the executive structure that will pilot the affairs of the party at the ward level.

Furthermore, representatives of Ward 9 Abbi to the Ndokwa West Local Government leadership of the party were also duly elected, ensuring that the ward’s voice resonates clearly within the broader architecture of the party.
This Congress stands as a philosophical reminder that democracy is not sustained by noise but by structure; not by ambition alone but by responsibility. In a political era where loyalty is tested and leadership scrutinized, Ward 9 Abbi has demonstrated maturity, order, and unity of purpose, even as INEC officials were present to observe.

The atmosphere of the Congress reflected joy and satisfaction among party faithfuls and leaders who expressed confidence in the choices made. The gathering was not divided by interests but united by conviction, the conviction that the future of the party must be anchored on competence, integrity, and collective vision.
Democracy, like a tree, draws its strength from its roots. When the roots are firm, the branches flourish. Ward 9 Abbi has watered its roots. With this newly elected executive, the ward is poised to consolidate party structures, mobilize effectively, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the APC across Ndokwa West and Delta State.

As we congratulate the newly elected executives, we remind them that leadership is a trust, not a throne. The mandate bestowed upon them is both an honour and a moral obligation to serve selflessly, unify the faithful, and uphold the ideals of the All Progressives Congress.
History will record that 18/02/2026 was not simply a date on the calendar, but a milestone in the political evolution of Ward 9 Abbi.

Long live Ward 9 Abbi.
Long live Ndokwa West.
Long live Delta State.
Long live the All Progressives Congress

PRESS RELEASE

APC WARD 9 ABBI HELD HARMONIZATION MEETING AHEAD OF FEBRUARY 18 WARD CONGRESSES

17/02/2026

Abbi, Ndokwa West LGA: In preparation for the forthcoming All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Congresses scheduled for 18th February 2026, leaders and stakeholders of APC Ward 9 Abbi have held a crucial consultative and harmonization meeting aimed at fostering unity and smooth conduct of the exercise.

The well-attended meeting took place at Abbi Motel and was chaired by the Chairman of APC Ward 9, alongside the Vice Chairman, Secretary, and other members of the Ward Executive Committee. Over 80 percent of the executives and leaders of the party were present, reflecting the importance attached to the deliberations.

The primary objective of the meeting was to harmonize the interests of both old and new APC members in Ward 9 Abbi, particularly as it concerns participation and organization of the upcoming Ward Congresses. The gathering provided a platform for open dialogue, mutual understanding, and collective planning to ensure a peaceful and transparent process.

After extensive deliberations, the meeting resolved to constitute a Congress Committee made up of respected leaders of the party and selected members outside the current executive structure. This decision became necessary as many serving executives have indicated interest in contesting for positions in the forthcoming congresses. The committee is expected to coordinate activities and ensure fairness and orderliness during the exercise.

All interested aspirants for various ward executive positions have been advised to formally reach out to the Secretary of the party at ward level, irrespective of whether they belong to the old or new APC bloc. This measure is intended to ensure proper documentation and avoid confusion or conflict before and during the congress.

The meeting was graciously hosted by the foremost APC leader in Ward 9, Hon. Valentine Oyemike, who was physically present and provided valuable counsel. In his remarks, Hon. Oyemike, who spent hundreds of millions of naira to sustain the APC party before, during and after the 2023 general election, emphasized the need for inclusiveness and urged all party members to carry along the new APC members in every aspect of party activities. He called on all stakeholders to shun any form of division, stressing that former PDP members are now fully integrated into the APC family.

He further encouraged unity, mutual respect, and cooperation among all members, noting that the success of the party depends on collective effort and a shared sense of purpose.
It is noteworthy that leaders of both the old APC and new APC structures were duly consulted and formally invited to the meeting, underscoring the commitment to fairness and broad participation.

The APC in Ward 9 Abbi remains one united family, working together in harmony to strengthen the party and ensure a successful and credible ward congress.

IN DEFENCE OF SENATOR NED NWOKO: ANIOMA STATE AND THE IGBO QUESTION

I read with amusement Harry Asoti’s latest rejoinder to Professor Steve Okecha, purportedly written in defence of Ndokwa people against alleged “slander.” But like many of these hurried interventions, the piece misses the forest for the trees. While Asoti is busy trying to polish local sentiments and draw artificial boundaries, he forgets the broader historical truth: Anioma is Igbo-speaking, Anioma people are culturally and linguistically tied to the larger Igbo world, and what Senator Prince Ned Nwoko is doing today follows in the proud footsteps of leaders like Chief Dennis Osadebay and Senator Nosike Ikpo.

Let me teach Prof about the historical precedent.
Let us begin with history, which neither Asoti nor Professor Okecha can wish away. When Chief Dennis Osadebay, an Anioma son from Asaba, spearheaded the agitation for the Mid-West Region, he did so explicitly as an Igbo-speaking Anioma leader. The entire architecture of the Mid-West was built on the recognition that Anioma people were of Igbo stock, distinct from Benin but connected to their kith and kin across the Niger. Osadebay went on to become the first Premier of the Mid-West Region—a political reality founded on the same identity that today’s detractors want to erase.

Similarly, Senator Nosike Ikpo, another illustrious Anioma son, never minced words in affirming the Igbo heritage of Anioma people. In multiple public statements and political engagements, Ikpo made clear that our identity is not up for debate. Anioma is Igbo, and Igbo is Anioma. The records are there for any honest researcher to consult.

We must understand Senator Ned Nwoko’s Continuity, and not see it as an Invention
Against this background, what exactly is Senator Ned Nwoko doing wrong? He is not “selling out” his people, as Asoti tries to insinuate. He is simply continuing the historic mandate of Anioma leaders who came before him: securing political space and recognition for Anioma people within the proper geopolitical framework.

The agitation for Anioma State in the South-East is not a betrayal but an affirmation. It is a natural extension of our history, our culture, and our language. Anioma people speak Igbo dialects; our culture, festivals, and names resonate with Igbo identity. To deny this is to indulge in political self-deception.

The Jealousy and Clout-Chasing of Today’s Critics is what you're seeing that is triggering these baseless articles against the Anioma State Creation in the south East geopolitical zone.
The venom of Professor Okecha and his cheerleaders like Asoti betrays not intellectual honesty but sheer jealousy. For decades, Anioma sons and daughters have struggled to have their voices heard at the national stage. Senator Ned Nwoko has done more in the last few years to project Anioma identity than many armchair critics have done in their lifetime. Rather than applaud his boldness, they reduce themselves to petty attacks, labeling his supporters “dogs” or, in Asoti’s case, scrambling to defend narrow sectional pride.

Let us be clear: the issue is not about whether Ndokwa, Ika, or Aniocha/Oshimili has said this or that. The issue is the undeniable truth of Anioma’s Igbo identity. All attempts to fragment this truth into artificial ethnic blocs are politically motivated distractions.

Professor Okocha should understand the geopolitical Imperatives.
The South-East has for long been the only geopolitical zone with five states instead of six. The agitation for Anioma State is not just cultural; it is a geopolitical correction. By creating Anioma State in the South-East, equity and balance will finally be restored in Nigeria’s federal arrangement. Anyone opposing this is either ignorant of the structural injustice or simply playing to the gallery for selfish gains.

Senator Ned Nwoko deserves commendation, not condemnation. He stands in the line of Dennis Osadebay and Nosike Ikpo—leaders who proudly identified Anioma as Igbo and fought for political structures that recognized this fact. Professor Okecha’s careless words and Asoti’s misguided rejoinders cannot erase history.

Those fighting Anioma’s inclusion in the South-East are not defenders of heritage; they are opportunists chasing clout, jealous of Senator Nwoko’s vision, and blind to the historical truth that Anioma is, was, and will remain an integral part of the Igbo nation.

Anioma belongs in the South-East. Anioma deserves its state. And no amount of slander will change that.
