*Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape: A Distinguished Public Servant*

Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape, popularly known as AFOO, has left an indelible mark on the lives of the people of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency. With unwavering dedication and commitment to serving his people, Afuape has facilitated numerous projects and initiatives that have impacted the lives of his constituents. With less than 2 years at the Federal House of Representatives, he has distinguished himself as a trusted and worthy representative. Some of his achievements so far are:

*Infrastructure Development*
1. Presentation of a 500kVA Transformer to the people of Keesi-Emere, situated at Oke Keesi Junction, Itoko, Abeokuta.
2. Procurement of a 500kVA Transformer for the Idi-Iroko community, Ijeun Titun, Ward 9, Abeokuta South.
3. Reconstruction of Kemta-Olokuta Road, Idi Aba Abeokuta.
4. Provision of a Power Transformer to Adigbe and financial support towards powering the transformer for Kugba community.
5. Provision of Solar Lights at Abule Ake, Isale Ake, Itesi, Ake, and environs.
6. Provision of a Borehole at Isale Kuto community, Abeokuta.
7. Facilitation of Borehole at Olowu-Cobola Mosque, Oke Areja, Ward 2, Abeokuta.
8. Facilitation of Borehole at Ijoko Community, Ijoko, Abeokuta.

*Education*
1. Construction of a Block of 6 Classrooms to St. John's High School, Kuto, Abeokuta.
2. Ongoing Construction of A-Block of 3 Classrooms at Methodist Primary School, Abeokuta.
3. Facilitation of Lockers and Benches at Igbore High School, Igbore, Abeokuta.
4. Distribution of 100 Classroom Furniture to Rev. Kuti Isabo Abeokuta and Saint Peter Primary School, Ake, Abeokuta.
5. Distribution of over 2000 Exercise Books to students in the constituency.

*Healthcare*
1. Facilitation of Free Medical Outreach for the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency, where over 5000 people were treated.

*Empowerment*
1. Distribution of over 50 Pepper Grinding Machines.
2. Distribution of over 100 Tailoring Machines.
3. Distribution of 5 Motorcycles to 5 individuals.
4. Distribution of 50 Deep Freezers to 50 individuals for small-scale businesses.
5. Training of 100 Youths with startup kits on Solar System Engineering.
6. Distribution of 50 Thousand Naira each to 150 individuals in trade support.
7. Distribution of Trade Items to over 200 traders.

*Community Development*
1. Grant of Two Million Naira to Ike (Itoku, Keesi, and Emere) community to support the growth of the market.
2. Donation of #500,000 to Ifelodun Arokoje community.
3. Donation of #600,000 to Ifelere Titun community.
4. Donation of #650,000 to Panseke market traders.

*Food Palliatives*
1. Distribution of Food Palliatives to over 1000 households in Abeokuta South.
2. Over 300 Bags of Rice, many cows, and huge cash were shared to his constituents (politicians, artisans, business men, and women, etc.) towards the new year (2024) festivity.

*Legislative Contributions*
Hon. Afuape has sponsored and moved several motions and bills in the National Assembly. These bills and motions demonstrated his commitment to good governance and paramount welfare of his people. Some of which includes:

1. Call on the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to Address Problems confronting Electricity Consumers.
2. Call to Revive and Promote the Traditional Fabrics Industries of Adire/Kampala to Boost the Nation's Cultural Heritage.
3. Installation of Appropriate Metering System by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL)
4. A Bill for an Act to Establish the National Farm Settlements Agency and for Related Matters - 1st Reading.
5. A Bill for an Act to Amend the Nigeria Police Act of 2020 and for Related Matters - 2nd Reading.
6. A Bill for an Act to Amend the National Council For Arts and Culture Act, Cap N25 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and for Related Matters - 1st Reading.

Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape's selfless service and dedication to his constituents have earned him accolades across political divides.

For these and many more, I present to you, a trailblazer and dedicated Public Servant, *Hon. Afolabi Moruf Afuape*, Member, House of Representatives, Abẹ́òkúta South Federal Constituency, as my *2024 Man of the Year.*
