Together with UNICEF and other key partners, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs will officially launch the SDG 3 and SDG 4 Independent Evaluation Reports in Nigeria 🇳🇬, which takes place on August 25, 2022.

The reports were commissioned to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of these goals, in furtherance of evidence-based reviews for the .

We are glad to announce that the Carrington Youth Fellowship Initiative of the United States Consulate will open to residents of Ogun and Oyo States on Monday.

CYFI in Ogun State is a partnership program with the Kensington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation, KAAF, while CYFI in Oyo is in partnership with the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sport. We are glad to be working with these institutions to expand the program to these States.

If you are residents in Ogun and Oyo States, application for the CYFI Fellowship program opens on Monday, July 18 by 9:00am until Saturday, July 30 by 11:59pm.

OGUN FIRST LADY SEEK INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE

The high level political forum (HLPF) and the national volunteering review (NVR) on sustainable development goals is underway at the United Nations Quarters New York
Ogun State is being represented by a delegation from the AJOSE FOUNDATION led by the wife of the Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun and other members of the civil society coalition on Sustainable Development.

Contributing to discussion after a presentation from the team lead from Sao Tome and Principe,the Ogun State First Lady, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between international development partners,state actors,the academia and civil society organisations to combat climate change.

According to her climate change is a threat to global development leading to deforestation, drought, soil degreedation and erosion among others thereby affecting the livelihood of the people.

She advocated more funding support for developing countries as well as capacity building to improve the quality of life of the people.

Nelson Mandela Day is celebrated every July 18 to shine the light on the legacy of a man who changed the 20th century and helped shape the 21st- Nelson Mandela. This is a moment for all to renew with the values that inspired Nelson Mandela- Absolute determination.

This event is set to help us recall the lessons of Nelson Mandela’s life as the world takes forward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and strives to overcome new sources of adversity.

The event will take place in Ikoyi, Lagos. Admission is free but we require that you register ahead.

With the goal of identifying strategies and solutions to support youth in accelerating progress toward the attainment of the Global Goals, UN SDSN Youth Nigeria is organizing the 2022 edition of the National SDG Summit & Changemakers Award.

The Summit will feature inspiring keynote sessions, immersive workshops, thought-provoking roundtables, and panel discussions, as well as vast opportunities to network.

The Changemaker Award is designed to serve as an avenue to recognize the efforts of inspiring young individuals who with their voluntary, outcome-driven, and impact-oriented initiatives in social services and various development fields are contributing toward the achievement of the SDGs

"An estimated 65% of the 169 targets of the 17 SDGs will not be reached without the engagement of local and regional governments." - Mohamed Yahya, UNDP Resident Representative to Nigeria.

Together with UNDP in Nigeria, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on is providing technical and financial support to sub-national governments on the process of integrating the Sustainable Development Goals into mid- and long-term development plans.

As we edge closer to the deadline for the SDGs in this , we must continue to strengthen partnerships for the SDGs implementation in Nigeria.

INVITATION TO STEPDOWN TRAINING WORKSHOP ON SDG16+

The CSCSD organised a National Training Workshop on strengthening the capacity of members on SDG16+ and report writing. The workshop is expected to be stepdown in all the States.

In this regard, you are invited to participate in the step-down training which will focus on SDG 16+.

The realization of SDG 16 underpins the realization of the entire 17 SDG though not many people know about this. It is also important for all the participants to understand how to write civil society or shadow report. This workshop sets to achieve the above objectives.

The event will hold as follow:
