A police officer in Borno State identified as Mohammad Muhammad has been commended for returning ₦2.6 million mistakenly transferred to his bank account by a customer of a fintech company.
The commendation followed a Facebook post by Bello Jafar, on Friday, who praised the officer, Mohammad Muhammad, for what he described as an uncommon display of honesty and integrity.
Jafar, in the post, said Muhammad, a police officer and customer of the United Bank for Africa, received the money in error from a Moniepoint customer but took steps to ensure it was returned to the rightful owner.
