The Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, under the purposeful leadership of Comr. Kayode Amos Sowunmi JP, today convened its extended statewide general meeting with remarkable participation and unity of purpose.

The gathering brought together members and stakeholders across the state to deliberate on matters central to the growth, regulation, and welfare of commercial motorcycle operators. It was a moment of reflection, coordination, and renewed commitment to responsible leadership within the transport sector in Ogun State.

The high point of the meeting was the conferment of an Award of Recognition on the State Chairman Comr. Sowunmi by the Newspaper Magazine Publishers Association of Nigeria (NPMAN), Southwest Zone. The honour, presented in acknowledgment of his exemplary leadership and contributions to organizational stability and community development, underscores the growing recognition of disciplined, structured, and visionary leadership within ACOMORAN and beyond.

The event further reaffirmed the chapter’s resolve to uphold professionalism, unity, and constructive engagement with government and the public in advancing a safer and more organized transport ecosystem across Ogun State.

The discussions during this important meeting focused on the paramount importance of what we do and how to be better at our activities on the road, in our parks, and beyond.

The Chairman highlighted the need for selflessness and integrity, loyalty, to the Government, and compliance with the laws guiding the road use and law enforcement agencies.

Ogun State Marks Golden Jubilee as ACOMORAN Chairman Hails Legacy, Leadership, and Future

Abeokuta, Ogun State — As Ogun State celebrates its Golden Jubilee, Comrade Kayode Amos Sowunmi, JP, Chairman of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle and Tricycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Ogun State Chapter, has congratulated the government and people of the state on 50 years of purposeful existence, resilience, and steady development.

In a statement released to commemorate the anniversary, Comrade Sowunmi described Ogun State as a land of visionaries, industry, and excellence, noting that its journey since creation in 1976 reflects deliberate leadership and the collective sacrifices of its people. He paid glowing tribute to the founding ideals that have guided the state through successive administrations, applauding both past and present governors for their varied contributions to infrastructure, education, industrial growth, and social development.

The ACOMORAN chairman also celebrated Ogun State’s rich human capital, acknowledging iconic sons and daughters whose legacies continue to shape Nigeria and the world. He referenced foremost nationalists and intellectuals such as Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, former Head of the Interim National Government Chief Ernest Shonekan, and former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, among many others, describing them as enduring symbols of the “Gateway State’s” leadership pedigree.

Comrade Sowunmi commended the current administration for sustaining the development trajectory and urged continued unity, inclusive governance, and people-focused policies. He reaffirmed ACOMORAN’s commitment to peace, orderliness, and partnership with the government to advance economic opportunities for members and contribute meaningfully to the state’s progress. He concluded by wishing Ogun State greater prosperity in the years ahead, calling the Golden Jubilee “a celebration of legacy, leadership and limitless possibilities.”

ACOMORAN National President, Prince Adebayo Apelogun, Commends Governor Dapo Abiodun on Commissioning of Ayepe-Sagamu Road

​ The National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Prince Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, OON, following the official commissioning of the 3.5km Ayepe/Sagamu Road.

​The landmark event, held today, January 22, 2026, marks a significant milestone in the Abiodun administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and urban renewal within the state.
​A Distinguished Gathering
​The ceremony was attended by a host of high-ranking officials and traditional leaders, signaling the importance of the project to the region.

Delivering his goodwill message at the event, Prince Apelogun expressed profound joy and gratitude to Governor Abiodun for the successful completion of the road. He noted that the project would significantly ease transportation challenges for residents and commercial transporters alike.

​"This road is more than just asphalt; it is a lifeline for the economy of Sagamu and its environs. We are grateful for the Governor's vision and his dedication to improving the lives of the people through quality infrastructure," Apelogun stated.

The Ogun State Chapter of the Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle, Tricycle Repairers and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), under the leadership of Comr. Kayode Amos Sowunmi, JP, held its extended statewide meeting today.

The meeting had in attendance the full State Executive Council, alongside all Local Government and Branch Chairmen from across Ogun State.

A major highlight of the gathering was the presence of key government agencies:

The Ogun State Commandant of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), represented by Commandant Babalola;

The Commander of the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Commander Omonayajo;

And a representative of the Ministry of Transportation, Mr. Omisakin.

Their participation reaffirmed the strong partnership between government regulatory bodies and ACOMORAN. The trio collectively reiterated the importance of safety compliance, responsible riding, and adherence to transportation regulations—precautionary measures that have long been integral to the union’s operational culture.

As the foremost and pioneer motorcycle and tricycle union in Ogun State, ACOMORAN continues to attract the attention and support of relevant agencies, which see the platform as a vital channel for sensitizing operators and reinforcing public safety directives. Their engagement today underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring safer roads, as well as the union’s readiness to cooperate for the greater good.
