The commissioning of Phase II of the Imashayi–Igan-Okoto–Ayetoro Road in Yewa North Local Government Area marks another significant step in the ongoing efforts of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, to improve critical infrastructure and strengthen connectivity across communities.
This road will greatly benefit residents and farmers in the area, easing the movement of farm produce to markets and boosting economic activities in Yewa North, one of the State’s major food baskets.

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, who also doubles as the Chairman, Project Steering Committee (PSC), delivered the opening remarks at the 8th and Final Implementation Support Mission of the Ogun State Economic Transformation Project (OGSTEP) held in Abeokuta.
In his address, the Commissioner noted that Ogun State was able to align its development agenda with the project’s objectives by harnessing its competitive and comparative advantages. This alignment, he said, has resulted in monumental development and significant transformation across the State’s economy.
He explained that the project has, from inception, been guided by the clear vision of the Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, to strengthen institutions, enhance human capital, expand economic opportunities, and position Ogun State as a leading hub for sustainable and inclusive growth. He added that the Governor’s unwavering support and strategic direction provided the foundation for the achievements recorded across the project’s key pillars.
Mr. Okubadejo commended the World Bank Task Team for its consistent technical support, constructive engagement, and financial partnership, noting that these contributions have played a crucial role in delivering impactful results across multiple sectors.

Following the recent security meeting held with the Service Chiefs by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, and in light of emerging security concerns in the Ijebu-Ode area of the Ijebu Division, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, convened an Ijebu Security & Community Stakeholders Meeting last Monday.
The meeting brought together all key stakeholders, including the Police Area Commander for Ijebu-Ode and all DPOs covering the Ijebu Local Government Areas; the Operations Officer and other officers from the Sappers Ilese Military Barracks; the State Intelligence Director and the Ijebu Director of DSS; the State Deputy Director and Ijebu Commander of Amotekun; commanders of the Civil Defence, So-Safe Corps, and other security agencies. Also present were the Chief Imam, the CAN Chairman, market women representatives, and the Ijebu-Ode LGA House Leader.
Discussions centred on recent developments within the Ijebu axis and the urgent need for deeper collaboration, improved coordination, and stronger community support for security personnel as they work diligently to protect lives and property across the region.

The Ogun State Government has officially kicked off the Nigeria for Women Programme Scale-Up (NFWP-SU) Project Implementation at the Awujale Interregnum Hall, Awujale’s Palace, Ijebu-Ode, covering Ado-Odo/Ota, Ifo, Ijebu-Ode, and Sagamu LGAs. The programme marks a significant expansion of the State’s efforts to empower women, strengthen households, and drive inclusive economic growth.
Delivering the keynote address, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, who also chairs the Multisectoral Coordination Structure (MCS), commended the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, noting that Ogun’s exceptional performance in the first phase earned World Bank recognition as a National Resource Centre for Peer Learning, attracting 16 states for knowledge sharing.
The Scale-Up phase will directly empower over 105,000 women through 420 Ward Facilitators. Beneficiaries will receive training in financial education, business skills, life skills, and grievance redress mechanisms (GRM), helping women enhance their entrepreneurial skills and contribute meaningfully to the State’s economy.
Mr. Okubadejo emphasized that the NFWP-SU is “not merely a project launch, but an investment in a future where women have access to opportunities and communities thrive because women thrive.”

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, joined His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, at the Treasury Board Meeting on the 2026–2028 Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and 2026 Budget, held at the Obas Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Governor Abiodun charged all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to collectively generate ₦500 billion to fund the 2026 Budget, urging innovation, accountability, and creativity in revenue generation. He emphasized that the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) will generate ₦250 billion, while other revenue-yielding MDAs are expected to raise the remaining ₦250 billion.
In his opening remarks, the Honourable Commissioner highlighted the State Government’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in fiscal governance. He described the Treasury Board Meeting as more than a statutory exercise, noting that it serves as a strategic platform for reflection, evaluation, and collaboration to strengthen the foundations of good governance.
Mr. Okubadejo commended MDAs for their dedication and professionalism throughout the budget preparation process, urging them to defend their proposals with clarity, data, and measurable impact to ensure effective implementation. He emphasized that such collective effort is essential to aligning fiscal priorities with the State’s development goals.

The Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, who also serves as Chairman of the Multisectoral Coordination Structure (MCS) for the Nigeria for Women Program Scale-Up Project (NFWP-SU), today chaired the inauguration and maiden meeting of the committee held in Abeokuta.
The initiative, a Federal Government programme supported by the World Bank, seeks to improve women’s livelihoods, enhance economic opportunities, and promote social inclusion across Ogun State.
The Chairman explained that the MCS will serve as the engine room for coordination, accountability, and strategic alignment among ministries and partners, ensuring effective implementation of the project in the State.
He emphasized that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration remains committed to building a model of inclusive development where women thrive, communities prosper, and governance delivers measurable impact.

Today, the Honourable Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo, represented the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, at the official launch of the Nigeria Solar for Health Project and the inauguration of the State Steering and Technical Committee, held at Mitros Hall, Abeokuta.
The initiative, implemented in partnership with the European Union and NTU International, aims to provide clean and reliable solar energy to healthcare facilities across Ogun State, promoting sustainable energy for stronger healthcare systems and advancing universal health coverage.
Governor Abiodun noted that the project would strengthen healthcare delivery, create job opportunities, and enhance the sustainability of health facilities across the state. He added that the intervention would not only provide renewable energy for health centres but also power nearby small and micro businesses.

The sessions include presentations from the IITA team, showcasing innovations that will strengthen implementation and boost outcomes for farmers across the State.
A key highlight is the review of the Ogun State Farmers Information Management System (OGFIMS), funded under OGSTEP with World Bank support. OGFIMS connects farmers directly to government and value chain actors, providing market access, real-time information, a reliable database, capacity-building opportunities, and access to digital tools that make farming easier and more profitable.
The meeting also features an Innovation Showcase of cutting-edge IITA technologies such as improved crop varieties, stronger seed systems, better soil and pest management, value-addition innovations, and digital agriculture tools aligned with initiatives like TAAT, SAPZ, and FSRP.
Through this collaboration with IITA, Ogun State continues to enhance productivity, support agribusiness MSMEs, and advance digital extension services to improve livelihoods and food security.
