THE DIVIDENDS OF MARITIME TRADE TO THE PEOPLE OF DELTA AND HER NEIGHBORING STATES: A CALL TO ACTION AS SUGGESTED BY APC TOGETHER FOUNDATION
TO HIS EXECELLENCY, SENATOR EDE DAFINONE. SENATOR REPRESENTING DELTA CENTRAL OF DELTA STATE

The Chairman, APC Together Foundation, Ethiope East Zone, 'Mr Williams Itoje' of Oria-Abraka in Umiaghwa-Abraka Kindom, Delta State, has spotted a research that shows; Nigeria has an 853-kilometre long coastline facing the Atlantic ocean which hosts the country’s six major seaports engaged in maritime trade with Brazil, China, India, Japan, the United States and the European Union Countries. And the Port of Warri is the 6th major seaports in Nigeria.

PORT of WARRI

The Warri port was constructed in the late 1980s to serve the west delta region and attract oil companies. Lying between Lagos and Onne port, it enjoys an advantageous position and was declared a Free Zone in 2011.

The port covers 1,530,000 m2 and is divided into the Warri new port and the old port that deals with RORO, containers and general cargo. It has four container wharves and five general cargo berths covering 1600 m with a draft of 8 metres. A 60,000 m2 yard is used for storing containers and a 2500 m2 paved area for keeping loose cargo.

It is endowed with the latest equipment such as 5 cranes, 9 forklifts, 3 trailers, 8 port trucks etc. An industrial zone is adjacent to the port and houses factories, processing units and offices of shipping companies.

He (Mr Williams Itoje) went on to suggest to our noble Senator, Chief Ede Dafinone to make Warri seaport a functional one through his office, knowing fully well, that shipping goods from China and any of these countries to Nigeria, using the seaport at Warri, will also implies that the whole of Delta State, Anambra State, Edo syate, and Beyelsa State, business men and women living in Lagos will find it easy to have their business in South-South by using Warri seaport when and if it’s dredged. This seaport will create over two hundred thousand jobs, directly and indirectly, in marine business, oil and gas, power, education, housing, agro-food industry, entertainment, tourism, etc....

2024 COUNCIL ELECTION; APC TOGETHER FOUNDATION (ATF), RESOLVE TO OWN ETHIOPE EAST LGA COUNCIL 2024

ATF had a meeting immediately after the burial ceremony of the late father of Ethiope East LGA Zone, Abraka ward-1 Chairman, 'late Pa Thomas Ichipi', on Friday 26th of May 2023.
In the meeting, it was resolved that all hands should be on desk and that members should undermine the situation of the Delta State APC Party over the previous election, but at same time believing that we will get our stolen mandate through the court ruling before the end of this year 2023.

In the meeting the members lamented over the act of our leaders in the last 2023 general election, but in the spirit of the Foundation they were encouraged to change the political narrative of our state, beginning from ATF founding LGA, our home Ethiope East LGA.

The Ethiope East ATF Chairman, 'Mr. Williams Itoje' did assure the house if only we never relent in our membership/efforts, we will definitely win the coming 2024 Local Government Council election in Ethiope East LGA, irrespective of any political party nor PDP local government council's Chairman and ward Councillors pre-election allocation of positions.

Present in the meeting is the state Executive Director, "Comrade Shadrak Okusuwa' and his ABRAKA members, Pa Couple Okotie with his AGBON-1 members and Chief Mrs Edafioka Endurance and her AGBON-2 members.

It was agreed in the meeting that all eleven wards and the 157 old unit Chairmen should go back home to redress their members in readiness to the 2024 Council election. And Agbons axis will be hosting the next LGA meeting.

DELTA CENTRAL ACTING ZONAL COORDINATOR; SAYS APC ALL THE WAY

Mr Williams Itoje of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom, who in his capacity as the Zonal chairman of APC Together Foundation, Ethiope East LGA Zone, and the acting Delta Central Senatorial District Coordinator, in a meeting of celebration of our party election victory, did congratulate Chief EDE DAFINONE, on his victory over the February 25th general elections as the Delta Central Senator elect, and BOLA AHMED TINUBU, as President elect.

He also urge his fellow Chairmen, members and non members (ELECTORATES) to turn out more to vote OVIE OMO-AGEGE for governor of the new Delta State, and also secure their immediate LGA State House of Assembly Candidate. He also added Rt.. Hon. Innocent Anidi for DTHA, in his own Ethiope East Constituency
