RE: DISCLAIMER ON MISLEADING VIDEO AND ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT IN ADC ACTIVITIES

The attention of Abua/Odual Local Government Area has been drawn to misleading and malicious videos currently circulated on social media by faceless, disgruntled and and unknown politicians alleging the local government chairmans involvement in the disruption or disagreement surrounding the activities of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abua/Odual LGA.

For the avoidance of doubt, the council wishes to categorically state that the chairman is unaware of such a g*thering and did not grant approval for, and cannot be held responsible for the failure of the ADC to unite their house thereby leading to breakdown of law and order. The claims suggesting his involvement are therefore false, baseless, and should be disregarded by the public.

The council also stated that it is not aware of any political party like ADC in Abua/Odual because the faceless group does not have an office neither do they have anyone or any form of structure that could be held responsible if there is any form of break down of law and order just like the one caused by their internal party affairs today.

It is pertinent to note that there are known factions laying claim to the national leadership of the ADC up to the local governments, with several litig*tions ongoing. These internal disputes led to the derecognition of its national leadership by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). It is therefore reasonable to conclude that the disagreement captured in the said video may have stemmed from there internal party issues rather than any external interference.

Also, it is important to note that while enemies and people who do not wish well for the LGA were spreading falsehood capable of instig*ting violence and chaos in the area all over social media and also sponsoring blogs and news houses, the chairman was at the Port Harcourt international airport handling matters of national importance as the chairman of the Protocol committee of the burial of a national figure the esteemed late Senator Barinada Mpigi, to ensure the remains of the late senator is brought to the state for onward burial and couldn't have been directing people to go after some faceless elements and at the same time handle the protocol services at the airport so well.

The Executive Chairman remains a man of peace, fully committed to maintaining law, order, and stability across Abua/Odual LGA. In line with this commitment, all political groups, organizations, or individuals intending to hold meetings, rallies, or any form of public g*thering within the LGA are strongly advised to duly inform and obtain necessary approvals from relevant authorities. This is essential to ensure public safety and prevent any breakdown of law and order.

Furthermore, it is important to emphasize that official political activities and rallies have not yet been authorized by INEC. As such, any political processes such as congresses should be strictly confined to designated party Secretariat, in order to avoid unnecessary tension and overheating the polity in the area.

The Chairman remains focused on governance and development, prioritizing projects and policies that improve the lives of the people of Abua/Odual. He has no interest in interfering in the internal affairs of other political parties. When the appropriate time comes, he will present himself to the people based on his track record of achievements and ongoing developmental strides.

The general public is hereby urged to disregard the said video and any misleading narratives associated with it.

ABUA/ODUAL CHAIRMAN, ENGR. OFORI, APPROVES IMMEDIATE COMMENCEMENT OF WORK ON THE AYAMA-OKANA ROAD

The Executive Chairman of Abua/Odual LGA, Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori, has approved the immediate commencement of work on the Ayama-Okana Road.

Engr. Ofori made the announcement on Tuesday in his office at the Council Secretariat in Ayama while receiving members of the Abua/Odual Legislative Council on a courtesy visit.

The Chairman communicated the Council's decision to the lawmakers, emphasizing the urgent need for work to resume on the road in order to provide a permanent and lasting solution for the people. He underscored the road's importance as part of the economic lifeline of the LGA, noting that it connects communities, links to the market, and provides easy access to various areas within the LGA's central clan.

The Chairman also announced the commencement of work on the New Abolga Ultra-Modern Park and the Abolga Shopping Mall. These projects are part of the Uru-Odighi administration's efforts to develop the LGA headquarters, create direct and indirect jobs, and provide opportunities for small and medium-scale enterprises and businesses in the area to thrive.

"I met them there on my way to the office; they are doing their measurements so that we can get past the market before the rain starts," he said. Engr. Ofori stated.

"It is the money the Council is generating that we want to use so that we can do the park, the market road, and the shopping mall. By next week, you will see these three projects running simultaneously. Once we achieve that, we can then look at how to clean up the environment."

ABUA/ODUAL LGA ANNOUNCES SUSPENSION OF MARKET UNIONS AT ABUA ANYIEZI MARKET

The Government of Abua/Odual Local Government Area has announced the immediate suspension of all market unions operating within the Abua Anyiezi Market whose activities are impeding free trade and the smooth conduct of lawful business.

This decisive action follows reports and observations of practices that undermine open commerce, restrict access for traders and buyers, and disrupt the orderly management of the market. The suspension is aimed at restoring sanity, ensuring fairness, and protecting the economic interests of traders and residents who rely on the market for their livelihood.

The Local Government reiterates its commitment to creating an enabling environment where lawful trading thrives without intimidation, extortion, or artificial barriers. During the period of suspension, the appropriate authorities will review the activities of the affected unions and put in place measures that guarantee transparency, orderliness, and compliance with extant laws and regulations.

All traders and stakeholders are advised to cooperate with constituted authorities and go about their legitimate businesses peacefully, as security agencies and relevant departments of the Council will monitor compliance.

The Abua/Odual Local Government Area assures the public that this action is taken in the best interest of the people and the overall economic wellbeing of the Local Government.
