It was a great honour to receive the leadership and members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria on a courtesy visit to the Imo State Internal Revenue Service.

I deeply appreciate the kind words, support, and letter of appreciation presented to me in recognition of our shared commitment towards professionalism, accountability, and institutional growth. Their continuous dedication to strengthening the accounting profession and contributing to national development remains commendable.

During our engagement, we discussed the critical role Chartered Accountants play in tax administration, economic growth, and nation building. I also emphasized the need for increased public sensitization on tax obligations and compliance, especially with the implementation of the New Nigerian Tax Act 2025.

As Executive Chairman of IIRS, I remain committed to building stronger collaborations with professional bodies like ICAN to drive efficiency, transparency, and sustainable revenue growth for Imo State.

I encouraged the body to continue championing professionalism, integrity, and excellence while we collectively work towards moving our dear State forward.

Together, we can build a more compliant, prosperous, and economically stronger Imo State.
