Once upon a time , in a small village named jada, a couple welcome a new born baby into their home on 25th November 1946, they name the new born ATIKU ABUBAKAR, Jada village which was then under the administration of the British Cameroons,the territory later joined with the Federation of Nigeria in the 1961 British Cameroons referendum.
Garba Abubakar who is the father of Atiku Abubakar was a Fulani trader and farmer, which made the new born Atiku a Fulani by birth , and his mother was Aisha Kande was a full house wife, growing up was not rosy for him as his parents were not rich and were living the day by the proceeds they get each day.
At the age of eight, Atiku Abubakar enrolled in the Jada Primary School, Adamawa. He was an average student and the teachers are always complaining of him taking what doesn’t belongs to him and bullying others, he was suspended on different occasion and the parent pleaded that he was not used to having other kids around him which made it difficult for him to adapt with other kids because the only sister he ever had died at childbirth in 1957 which made him the only child of his parent .

After completing his primary school education in 1960, he was admitted into Adamawa Provincial Secondary School in the same year, his father died by drowning while crossing a river to Toungo, a neighbouring village to Jada leaving him with his mother to take care of, He graduated from secondary school in 1965 after he made grade three in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Following secondary school, Abubakar studied a short while at the Nigeria Police College in Kaduna. He left the College when he was unable to present an O-Level Mathematics result, and worked briefly as a Tax Officer in the Regional Ministry of Finance, he made a lot of contact in this minist
