PRESS STATEMENT

MAY 30, 2026

NO AMOUNT OF PRESS STATEMENTS CAN REWRITE COURT RECORDS OR SUPPRESS THE TRUTH

We have carefully read the statement issued by Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed regarding the alleged affirmation of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Unfortunately, rather than providing clarity, the statement has further exposed the deep contradictions surrounding the current leadership crisis within the party.

First, it is important to remind Nigerians that leadership disputes within the PDP remain the subject of intense legal and political controversy. Various court decisions, appeals, and competing interpretations have emerged over the last several months, resulting in multiple claims of legitimacy from rival blocs within the party.

The most disturbing aspect of the statement is the claim that the PDP has already concluded all its primary elections, including the presidential primary election. Nigerians deserve a direct answer: when exactly was this presidential primary conducted? Under whose authority was it organized? Which delegates participated? Where are the official records? Where are the notifications issued to INEC? These are simple questions that deserve simple answers.

The statement also attempts to create the impression that every issue concerning the PDP leadership has already been settled. That is not an accurate reflection of the political realities within the party. Even after recent court decisions, different factions continue to advance conflicting interpretations of the judgments, while stakeholders across the country remain divided over the future direction of the party.

Furthermore, it is a matter of public record that litigation surrounding the status of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, disciplinary proceedings within the party, and questions regarding party leadership have generated multiple judgments and enforcement actions. Reports show that an FCT High Court dismissed a suit challenging disciplinary actions and subsequent enforcement efforts were pursued based on that judgment.

Equally important is the fact that the Supreme Court has repeatedly emphasized that courts should be cautious about interfering in the internal affairs of political parties except where constitutional procedures and due process are violated. This principle has featured prominently in several PDP-related disputes.

It is therefore misleading for anyone to present ongoing political disagreements as though they no longer exist. The truth is that serious constitutional, organizational, and leadership questions remain subjects of public debate within the PDP, and no amount of media spin can eliminate those realities.

The attempt to drag former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan into internal factional battles is equally unfortunate. Dr. Jonathan remains one of the most respected leaders produced by the PDP and should not be used as a tool in internal power struggles. His name should unite party members rather than become another source of division.

Most importantly, the future of the PDP cannot be determined by press statements, threats, propaganda, or competing media narratives. The future of the party will be determined by its constitution, its lawful organs, democratic processes, and the collective will of its members across the country.

We therefore call on all party stakeholders to abandon misinformation, embrace transparency, respect constitutional processes, and focus on rebuilding a credible opposition capable of inspiring confidence among Nigerians.

History has shown repeatedly that no individual is bigger than the PDP, and no faction can permanently impose its will against the collective interests of party members.

Signed:

GOODLUCK JONATHAN AND THE ALMAJIRI EDUCATION REVOLUTION NIGERIA STILL REMEMBERS

There was a time in Nigeria when leadership looked beyond politics and focused on the future of forgotten children. Under the administration of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the Almajiri education initiative became one of the boldest educational interventions ever introduced in Northern Nigeria.

For decades, millions of Almajiri children roamed the streets without access to proper education, shelter, healthcare, or opportunities. While many leaders only talked about the problem, the Jonathan administration took practical steps by establishing modern Almajiri schools across different states in the North.

These schools were not ordinary structures. They were designed to combine Islamic education with western education, giving children the opportunity to learn Qur’anic teachings alongside science, mathematics, English, vocational skills, and civic education. It was a vision aimed at empowering a generation instead of abandoning them to poverty and street life.

The initiative was not just about classrooms. It was about restoring dignity, hope, and humanity to children who had been neglected for years. Hostels, feeding systems, learning facilities, and trained teachers were introduced to ensure that the children could learn in a safe and conducive environment.

Goodluck Jonathan understood that insecurity, poverty, and unemployment cannot be solved without education. He believed that every Nigerian child, regardless of background or region, deserves the right to quality education and a better future.

Sadly, many of these noble initiatives were abandoned after his administration left office. Today, Nigerians can clearly see the difference between leadership driven by national development and politics driven by empty promises.

The Almajiri education programme remains one of the strongest symbols of inclusive leadership in Nigeria’s history. It proved that when government genuinely cares, lives can be transformed and communities can be rebuilt through education.

As Nigeria searches for direction again, many citizens continue to remember the Jonathan years as a period when government policies focused on unity, inclusion, infrastructure, education, and human development.

History will always remember Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as a leader who tried to give hope to the forgotten children of Northern Nigeria and invested in education as a tool for national peace, stability, and progress.

NIGERIA NEEDS EXPERIENCE, STABILITY, AND A LEADER WHO UNDERSTANDS THE SYSTEM

Nigeria is passing through one of the most difficult periods in its modern history. From economic hardship to insecurity, unemployment, rising cost of living, and growing national frustration, millions of Nigerians are asking serious questions about the future of the country.

At moments like this, nations do not need noise.
They need experience.
They need stability.
They need leadership that understands governance and knows how to rebuild broken institutions.

Former President remains one of the few Nigerian leaders with deep national experience, democratic maturity, and a proven understanding of how government works at every level.

He understands the Nigerian system.
He understands the economy.
He understands the complexity of national unity.
And most importantly, he understands the importance of peace, tolerance, and institutional stability.

Many Nigerians still remember that during his administration, major investments were made in rail transportation, road construction, aviation, agriculture, education, power, and democratic institutions. Nigeria witnessed leadership that focused more on national development than political intimidation and endless division.

Today, Nigerians are not just looking for politicians.
They are looking for reassurance.
They are looking for competence.
They are looking for somebody who can calm the nation, restore confidence, rebuild institutions, and create a sense of direction once again.

The reality is that leadership is not learned overnight. Governance requires wisdom, patience, understanding, and experience. Nigeria cannot continue experimenting while millions of citizens struggle daily for survival.

Goodluck Jonathan represents calm leadership.
He represents national unity.
He represents democratic stability.
He represents experience in government and international respect.

This is why many Nigerians across political, ethnic, and religious lines are increasingly calling for a return to responsible leadership built on vision, maturity, and national interest.

The future of Nigeria must not be built on anger and division.
It must be built on competence, peace, development, and institutional respect.

Nigeria needs healing.
Nigeria needs rebuilding.
Nigeria needs leadership that listens.
Nigeria needs leadership that understands the system and knows exactly what to do.

And for many Nigerians today, that conversation begins again with Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

STATEMENT OF HOPE, UNITY, AND NATIONAL REBUILDING

Nigeria stands once again at a defining moment in its democratic journey. Across the country, millions of Nigerians are yearning for leadership built on experience, stability, inclusion, economic recovery, and national unity.

The challenges facing our nation today require calm leadership, democratic maturity, institutional respect, and a sincere commitment to rebuilding trust among Nigerians regardless of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliation.

Former President remains one of the few national figures whose leadership continues to inspire conversations around peace, democratic stability, and national unity. His years in office represented a period where democratic institutions were strengthened, political tolerance was encouraged, and the unity of Nigeria remained a central national objective.

As conversations toward 2027 continue across the country, many Nigerians are increasingly calling for a leadership direction focused on competence, experience, reconciliation, youth empowerment, economic growth, security, and national healing.

The future of Nigeria cannot be built on division, bitterness, or personal political battles. It must be built on collective sacrifice, institutional stability, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of ordinary Nigerians.

This is the time for patriots, democrats, youths, women, professionals, and all well-meaning Nigerians to come together and begin serious discussions about the kind of nation we want to build for future generations.

Nigeria deserves leadership that unites rather than divides.
Nigeria deserves leadership that listens rather than intimidates.
Nigeria deserves leadership that restores hope rather than deepens hardship.

The journey toward national recovery and democratic renewal requires courage, vision, and collective responsibility from all Nigerians.

Together, we can rebuild confidence in our democracy.
Together, we can restore national unity.
Together, we can move Nigeria forward again.

GEJ 2027
Experience. Transformation. Prosperity.

14/05/2026

There was a time in Nigeria when infrastructure development moved with clear direction, stability, and national purpose.

During the administration of former President , Nigerians witnessed major investments in roads, rail transportation, aviation, power, education, agriculture, and democratic institutions. Across different regions of the country, projects were initiated and executed with a vision aimed at national growth and economic expansion.

From the revival of railway development to airport modernization, major highway projects, Almajiri education initiatives, agricultural transformation programs, and improvements in democratic governance, many Nigerians still remember that era as a period of relative national stability and institutional respect.

One of the greatest strengths of that administration was its commitment to peace, tolerance, and democratic maturity. Nigeria experienced leadership that encouraged dialogue, respected opposition voices, and placed national unity above unnecessary political confrontation.

Today, as Nigerians continue to face economic hardship, insecurity, rising unemployment, and deep political divisions, many citizens increasingly look back at that period with nostalgia and renewed appreciation.

The truth is simple:
Nigerians miss leadership that listened.
Nigerians miss leadership that united.
Nigerians miss leadership that focused on development instead of endless political conflict.

As conversations about the future of Nigeria continue ahead of 2027, many people across the country are once again calling for experienced, calm, and visionary leadership capable of restoring hope, rebuilding institutions, and moving Nigeria forward.

The legacy of infrastructure, democratic stability, and national unity remains one of the strongest reminders that better leadership is possible in Nigeria.

GEJ remains a symbol of peace, humility, and national development in the hearts of many Nigerians.

INEC STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING DOES NOT CONFER LEGITIMACY OR OVERRIDE PDP CONSTITUTIONAL DECISIONS

The recent statement announcing that Senator returned from an INEC stakeholders’ engagement and briefed Hon. Mohammed Abdulrahman has once again raised serious constitutional and legal questions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

First, attendance at an INEC stakeholders’ engagement does not in itself determine or validate the legitimacy of any individual within a political party. INEC engagements are administrative and consultative platforms involving political parties and stakeholders; they are not judicial bodies empowered to resolve internal leadership disputes within political parties.

Secondly, the core legal issue remains the unresolved constitutional questions surrounding the PDP leadership crisis and the consequences arising from the disciplinary actions, suspensions, cross-appeals, and subsequent Supreme Court judgments already circulating in the public domain.

The Supreme Court made it clear that the dispute substantially concerned the domestic affairs of the PDP and that the courts cannot permanently substitute themselves for the constitutional organs of a political party. The implication of that judgment is that the ultimate authority to stabilize and reorganize the party rests with the recognized organs of the PDP acting under the party constitution.

It is also important to note that the various court proceedings, including the Abuja High Court decisions and the Supreme Court judgments, consistently refused to invalidate the internal disciplinary mechanisms of the party once substantial compliance with party procedures was established.

Therefore, any attempt to create the impression that attendance at an INEC meeting automatically settles the leadership dispute or erases the constitutional controversies within the PDP would be legally inaccurate and politically misleading.

The rightful direction for the PDP at this stage should not be endless propaganda, media triumphalism, or factional celebrations. The priority should instead be genuine reconciliation, constitutional order, internal democracy, and respect for the collective authority of the party organs.

The PDP remains bigger than any individual office holder or faction. What Nigerians expect now is responsible leadership capable of uniting party members, restoring confidence, and preparing the party effectively for the 2027 general elections.

In law and in politics, legitimacy is not built merely through press statements or photographs after meetings. It is built through constitutional processes, broad party acceptance, institutional stability, and the confidence of party stakeholders across the country.

The focus moving forward should therefore be on rebuilding the PDP as a united democratic institution rather than deepening divisions through competing narratives and media battles.

12/05/2026

The signs are becoming clearer every day.

After the Supreme Court judgments, the dismissal of the cross-appeal, and the gradual collapse of the factional struggle for control of the PDP structure, many individuals who once claimed they were “saving” the party are now openly considering a move to the APC.

This development only confirms what many Nigerians already suspected — that the battle was never truly about protecting the PDP or defending democratic principles, but largely about political control and personal interests.

If those who loudly claimed victory are now discussing how to join the APC after the Supreme Court outcome, then Nigerians should ask a simple question: why are people abandoning a structure they claimed to have legally won?

The reality remains that the constitutional organs of the PDP survived the legal battles, while many of those who promoted confusion and media propaganda are now searching for political alternatives.

Politics is about interest, but institutions must always come first. The PDP remains standing, and genuine party faithful must now focus on rebuilding, reconciliation, and strengthening the party ahead of 2027.

PRESS STATEMENT
May 9, 2026

Following the release and circulation of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Supreme Court judgment yesterday, political developments within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have continued to confirm the realities already established by the apex court regarding the leadership and structure of the party.

It is now evident that some prominent loyalists of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), including the House of Representatives Minority Leader, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, and Senator Abdul Ningi, have begun taking different political directions following the loss of influence and control over the structure of the party.

While Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda has reportedly aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdul Ningi has also reportedly moved toward the African Democratic Congress (ADC). These developments clearly show the political consequences arising from the collapse of the factional structure that attempted to dominate the PDP outside the constitutional organs of the party.

Nigerians can now clearly see and understand that the PDP remains the only truly national political platform capable of rescuing and rebuilding the country ahead of 2027. The Supreme Court judgment and the contents of the Certified True Copy (CTC) have restored authority to the legitimate constitutional organs of the party.

No amount of social media propaganda, media appearances, or contradictory press statements by individuals can change the clear legal position already established by the Supreme Court. The judgment is clear, and Nigerians have now seen its contents for themselves.

The party has now returned fully to its constitutional organs, and those organs, acting in the best interest of the PDP, have taken the responsible step of putting in place an Interim National Working Committee to supervise and coordinate the activities of the party ahead of the 2027 general elections and the conduct of an elective national convention.

The Interim National Working Committee remains a stabilizing mechanism intended to restore unity, confidence, internal democracy, and effective administration within the PDP as preparations continue toward the next electoral cycle.

We therefore call on all critical stakeholders, leaders, party faithful, youths, women, elected officials, and supporters of the PDP across the country to remain calm and united. Rather than abandoning the party at this critical time, this is the moment for all genuine members to come together and rebuild the PDP into a stronger and more united political force.

We are all working for one party — the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Together, through unity, sincerity, and commitment, we can achieve our collective dreams and secure a better future for Nigeria beyond the noise and distractions currently dominating the media space.

PRESS RESPONSE
May 8, 2026

RE: RESPONSE TO THE MISLEADING PRESS STATEMENT ISSUED BY HON. JUNGUDO HARUNA MOHAMMED

1. We have carefully read the statement issued by Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed concerning the Supreme Court judgment and the purported interpretation he seeks to force on members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Nigerian public. Unfortunately, the statement is filled with contradictions, distortions, and deliberate attempts to mislead party faithful despite the clear position already established by the Supreme Court.

2. Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed began by claiming that the Certified True Copy (CTC) circulating in the public domain was not officially released by the Supreme Court. However, in the same breath, he proceeded to interpret and rely extensively on the contents of the very document he claimed was invalid. This contradiction alone exposes the desperation behind the statement.

3. Even if, for the sake of argument, the said CTC was unofficially obtained, the contents remain clear and speak for themselves. The Supreme Court dismissed the cross-appeal, and no amount of media spin can change the enrolled orders of the apex court. The judgment remains a public judicial record whose contents cannot be altered through propaganda.

4. It is also misleading for Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed to suggest that Kabiru Turaki and others suffered defeat at every stage of the litigation. The Supreme Court itself struck out the originating suit for lack of jurisdiction and set aside the lower court judgment. Legally, this means the foundation upon which the earlier proceedings stood collapsed completely.

5. The Supreme Court clearly held that the matter involved the domestic affairs of the PDP and that the Federal High Court lacked jurisdiction to entertain it. Once jurisdiction fails, every proceeding conducted without jurisdiction becomes legally defective and unenforceable.

6. Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed further attempted to create the impression that the Supreme Court somehow validated the claims of his faction. This is false. The Supreme Court did not issue any order removing or suspending any national officer through the judgment he referenced.

7. Most importantly, the Supreme Court expressly dismissed the cross-appeal. The judgment specifically stated:
> “The Cross-Appeal is hereby dismissed.”
Justice Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme also affirmed:
> “I also agree that the Cross-Appeal stands dismissed as well.”

8. The dismissal of the cross-appeal means the parties who filed it failed to secure the reliefs they sought before the apex court. That is the simple legal meaning of the judgment, regardless of the emotional narratives now being promoted on social media.

9. It is therefore unfortunate that Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed and those behind him continue to deliberately misrepresent the Supreme Court judgment in order to deceive unsuspecting party members and create confusion within the PDP.

10. Contrary to the misleading claims being circulated, the Supreme Court did not direct the PDP Board of Trustees (BoT) to take over the affairs of the party. The Court equally did not declare any vacancy in the offices currently occupied by Senator Samuel Anyanwu, Hon. Umar M. Bature, or Umar Iliya Damagum.

11. We find it ironic that individuals who insist they secured victory at the Supreme Court are still struggling desperately to convince the public through media campaigns and political propaganda. Genuine court victories do not require daily distortion or emotional interpretation.

12. The Nigerian public and PDP members have now seen the contents of the judgment for themselves and can clearly distinguish between the actual orders of the Supreme Court and politically motivated falsehoods.

13. We therefore advise Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed and his associates to stop misleading party members and misleading the public through selective interpretation of judicial pronouncements. The integrity of the judiciary must not be sacrificed for political convenience.

14. The legal position remains clear and settled. The Supreme Court struck out the originating suit, set aside the lower court judgment, and dismissed the cross-appeal. Consequently, the recognized constitutional organs and leadership structure of the PDP remain legally empowered to continue administering the affairs of the party in accordance with the PDP Constitution.
