The APC National Chairman,
Prof Nentawe Yilwatda , will be guest lecturer at the combined 8th and 9th Convocation of the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State.

He will lecture on the topic, "Technology as an Enabler of Humanitarian Support, and Inclusive Empowerment and Development".

The event takes place on Friday, 28th November 2025 at the Professor Geoffrey Okogban 1000 Capacity Lecture Theatre, by 3pm prompt.

DOGARA MOURNS THE PASSING OF SHEIKH DAHIRU BAUCHI

Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing his death as a monumental loss to Nigeria and humanity.

In a statement issued today, Dogara noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was an exceptional cleric whose life was defined by piety, scholarship, and unwavering commitment to peace and moral values. According to him, the late Sheikh was a patriot, a teacher of immense influence, and a spiritual leader whose sermons inspired millions across communities and generations.

“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was not only a revered scholar but also a symbol of unity, compassion, and humility. His teachings consistently promoted peace, love, tolerance, and fear of God. Nigeria and the entire Muslim Ummah have lost a rare gem,” Dogara said.

Dogara also highlighted the personal bond he shared with the late cleric, noting that their relationship evolved beyond public life.

“He supported me and my political choices over the years. Our relationship grew into one that resembled that of a father and son. His guidance, prayers, and fatherly counsel were invaluable blessings in my life,” he stated.

He added that Sheikh Bauchi’s death leaves a void that will be difficult to fill, as his leadership, moral authority, and spiritual guidance had long served as a stabilizing force in society.

May Allah forgive the Sheikh’s shortcomings, reward his lifelong service to humanity, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

“Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi will be sorely missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” he concluded.

President Bola Tinubu has declared a nationwide security emergency, ordering the recruitment of 20,000 more Army and Police officers, making it 50,000 new personnel approved.

He also directed that NYSC camps be used as temporary police training centres and ordered VIP police escorts to be withdrawn and deployed to high-risk areas.

Tinubu further ordered the DSS to deploy forest guards to flush out terrorists, pledged support for states setting up local security outfits, and asked the National Assembly to begin work on state police.

He appealed to herders to stop open grazing, adopt ranching, and hand over illegal weapons.

The Senator representing Plateau South Senatorial District and Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong, CON, KSGG, has sent warm felicitations to the Member representing Pankshin, Kanke, Kanam Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Rt. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by the National Chairman Prof Nentawe Yilwatda , paid a condolence visit to His Excellency Ahmed Muazu, former Governor of Bauchi State, who recently lost his beloved mother.

During the visit, the National Chairman conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the APC family and prayed for the peaceful repose of the late matriarch’s soul. He described the deceased as a woman of virtue whose values of discipline, compassion, and faith were reflected in the life and leadership of her son.

The visit also served as a moment of reflection on the importance of family, faith, and resilience in times of loss. The National Chairman reaffirmed the party’s solidarity with the Muazu family and extended prayers for strength and comfort during this period of mourning.
