The Federal Government has approved the recruitment of 3,927 customs officers for the 2024/2025 fiscal year.

2. All educational qualifications are accepted from SSCE holder up to BSc

3. There is no cap on candidates' ages.

4. State of origin is required, which implies a possible consideration for national spread (federal character)

FGGRANTLOAN: Update From The Honourable Minister, Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka Over Delayed Disbursement Of Grant

The process is ongoing. Only 10% of the beneficiaries have been paid thus far. More disbursements will be made this week and in the weeks to come. A list of all beneficiaries will be published at the end of the process.

The two programmes are running concurrently. The grant portal is closed and disbursements have started and are ongoing. The loans portal remains open and eligible applicants are welcome to visit the website or their nearest Bank of Industry branch.

1 million beneficiaries will be paid across all the 774 local governments of the federation. This is roughly 1,290 people per local government. The process of disbursement is ongoing and a full list of beneficiaries will be published once complete. Thank you.

- N-Power Programme

- ⁠Conditional Cash Transfer Programme

- ⁠Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme

- ⁠Home Grown School Feeding Programme

Duration of Suspension: Six (6) weeks, in the first instance

𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲(𝘀):

- undertake a comprehensive review and audit of existing financial frameworks and policy guidelines of the social investment programmes with a view to implementing a total re-engineering of the financial architecture of the programmes

- propose detailed modification to procedures guiding the programmes’ implementation moving forward.

- ⁠Usher in a new era of operations based on open and accountable governance frameworks for the exclusive benefit of disadvantaged households across Nigeria

- ⁠develop processes to win back public confidence in these vital programmes

BREAKING NEWS:
President Bola Tinubu suspends the four programmes administered by NSIPA, which are N- POWER, Conditional Cash Transfer, Government enterprise and empowerment as well as the Home-Grown school feeding. The suspension, further to the ongoing investigation on the alleged mismanagement of funds, the agency and its programmes is for a period of six weeks. A ministerial panel is therefore constituted to conduct a thorough review of the agency's operations with a view to recommending necessary reforms of the NSIPA. During the period of this suspension, the states says, all NSIPA-Related activities, including but not limited to all distributions, events, payments, collaborations and registrations are now on hold. The President wishes to assures Nigerians that his administration remains committed to ensuring that the agency operates exactly as intended to the benefit of the most vulnerable Nigerians

BREAKING: Tinubu Suspends Minister of Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu Over Fraud Allegations

President Bola Tinubu has suspended the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, from office with immediate effect.

A statement by Tinubu's media aide, Ajuri Ngelale on Monday, said the suspension was in line with his avowed commitment to uphold the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in the management of the commonwealth of Nigerians.

The President further directs the Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a thorough investigation into all aspects of the financial transactions involving the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as well as one or more agencies thereunder.

The statement read, “The suspended Minister is hereby directed to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, and she is further directed by the President to fully cooperate with the investigating authorities as they conduct their investigation.

Furthermore, the President has tasked a panel that is headed by the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance to, among other functions, conduct a comprehensive diagnostic on the financial architecture and framework of the social investment programmes with a view to conclusively reforming the relevant institutions and programmes in a determined bid to eliminate all institutional frailties for the exclusive benefit of disadvantaged households and win back lost public confidence in the initiative.”

These directives of the President will take with immediate effect, it said.

*Humanitarian job Alert*

Following President Bola Tinubu directives, more items have been deployed to Plateau state for the communities and local government affected by the Christmas Eve attacks. The items were distributed to over 400 persons in two locations with the support of the Nigerian military.

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, as stated, is launching its link for job application in Plateau state. For avoidance of doubt, this is a temporal humanitarian aid worker job with three months' duration that is targeted at improving the Ministry's response time and quality of response in the communities affected. This job is for persons residents in those locations to help with community relationships and interaction. The location is Plateau state, LGAs affected are Barkin Ladi, Bokkos, and Mangu.
