Again, many feared dead as Two- storey building collapses in Abuja
A section of a two-storey residential apartment collapsed in Abuja on Saturday morning July 13, 2024, with several people trapped in the rubble.
The building located beside the popular Cupid Hotel on Cupid Road, Sultan Dasuki Way in Kubwa was formerly a hotel known as Al-Hilal.
Blueprint further gathered that It later became a hospital, but since the hospital owners quit the premises, it became a residential apartment.
It was learnt that emergency responders and security personnel were on ground to rescue victims while two persons have been rushed to a nearby hospital.

Many feared trapped as a two-storey building collapses in Lagos Island
Many people were feared trapped as a two-storey building collapsed in the Isale Eko area of Lagos state on Thursday, May 30.
The structure, which was said to have been defective, gave way following a fire in parts of Dosunmu Market on Lagos Island.
The Lagos territorial coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the incident, said 14 other buildings were seriously impacted by the fire.
He said emergency responders including the NEMA, Federal and State Fire Services, the Nigeria Police, and fire service of the Nigeria Ports Authority, were already at the scene of the event.

Many feared dead as three-storey building collapses in Abuja
A three-storey building plaza located along popular Lagos street at Garki district of Abuja collapsed at night with unspecified number of people trapped.
A resident who revealed this in the early hours of Thursday morning that the incident occurred close to FCT Police command and Emir of Garki palace during heavy downpour late Wednesday night.
Already, rescue operation has commenced with Director General of FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Dr Abbas Idriss, confirming that 37 persons have been rescued at the scene of the collapsed structure.
He said the victims have been evacuated to various medical facilities in Abuja.
Dr. Idriss couldn’t confirm how many victims that are still trapped as at the time of filling this report.
