66TH INDEPENDENCE ANNIVERSARY: YPP URGES NIGERIANS NOT TO LOSE HOPE, CALLS FOR RENEWED ZEAL TO RECLAIM THE COUNTRY
The Young Progressives Party (YPP) warmly congratulates Nigerians at home and across the world on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
After 66 years of nationhood, Nigeria may not yet be where we desire, but we must never lose faith in our country. A better Nigeria is possible and building it is a responsibility we all share.
Nigeria’s greatest strength is its people. Our future depends on how well we harness our human capital, ideas, creativity and enterprise.
As we approach the 2027 general elections, we urge Nigerians to look beyond party slogans, money and temporary inducements. Examine every candidate carefully. Examine their vision, competence, character, record and capacity to deliver.
No nation can rise above the vision and capacity of its leaders.
The 2027 election gives Nigerians another opportunity to speak through the ballot. It is an opportunity to demand accountability, reject bad governance and choose the kind of leadership we want for our country.
Nigerians should therefore reject electoral inducement and transactional politics. A bag of rice, a few naira notes or any temporary gift is not worth sacrificing four years of good governance and the future of our children.
Our votes are our voices. Our votes are our power. And our collective will is stronger than intimidation.
The YPP remains committed to providing Nigerians with a credible alternative and a clear vision of building an egalitarian society anchored on Nigerian citizens as the prime resource, driven by mentally progressive and young innovative leaders without greed.
To drive this vision, the YPP has presented Arc. Peter Agada as its Presidential Candidate for the 2027 election, following the party’s robust leadership recruitment process.
Central to the YPP’s programme is the Labour Direct Initiative, through which the party seeks to promote policies capable of delivering a higher standard of living, reducing the cost of governance, expanding productive opportunities through a bottom-up approach and ensuring greater value addition in national development.
Nigeria is not short of resources. We are not short of talent. We are not short of ideas. What we need is leadership with the vision, competence and courage to put our resources and human capital to work for the benefit of all.
The YPP calls on Nigerians to renew their faith in Nigeria, participate actively in nation-building and use the 2027 election to demand leadership that is visionary, competent, accountable and responsive to the needs of the people.
The Nigeria we dream of is possible. But it will not build itself. We must build it together.
On this 66th Independence Anniversary, the YPP salutes the resilience and strength of the Nigerian people and wishes all Nigerians peace, prosperity and renewed zeal to reclaim the country.
