Why Ali?

They asked me…
Why Ali?

And I said,
Many nights have passed…
Many days gone…
But among all men I’ve known,
Ali stood alone.

Not just rare,
He was light wrapped in humility.
You look at him, it becomes Ibadah.
You mention him, it becomes Ibadah.

Talk of justice?
He was the scale.
Talk of mercy?
He was the breeze before battle.
Talk of humility?
He swept the mosque with pride in his chest.
Talk of loyalty?
He was the shadow of Rasulillah.
Talk of knowledge?
He’s the ocean the scholars still sip from.
Talk of strength?
His silence shook mountains.
Talk of courage?
He smiled when others trembled.
Talk of devotion?
He bled in sajdah for the love of Allah.
Talk of love?
He was Asadullah, the lion of God.
Talk of Islam?
Ali is not beside it… he is within it.

He wasn’t just part of the story…
He was the story.
From Badr to Khaibar, he marched.
From Khandaq to Hunayn, he rose.
From Rasulillah’s bed,
To Madinah’s burning sands…
He stood firm.
When others faltered,
Ali became the spine of faith.

He was the crescent in every dark sky.
He walked with thunder in his chest
and mercy in his palms.
Ali is the sword
that never thirsted for blood,
but for justice.

The Qur’an,
It didn’t just speak about him…
It spoke through him.
Ali is not just a reciter,
He’s the ink in the Qur’an’s silence.
The echo between revelation and reflection.

Wherever truth moved,
It followed his direction.
He was Ali,
The only soul fit for Fatima’s heart.

Where wisdom bowed, he rose.
Where courage faltered, he advanced.

For knowledge,
He was the door.
For truth,
He was the path.
For salvation,
He was the key.
For devotion,
He led without asking.

What more can I say?

He was that thin line,
The boundary between faith and hypocrisy.
He held the rope of Allah,
And his grip never slipped.

Ali is not just a name.
It’s a legacy.
It’s love.
It’s light.
It’s loyalty.
It’s sacrifice.

Ali is the echo in every brave heart.
The fire in every just soul.
The serenity in every true believer.

And then…

Came Ghadir Khumm.
When the Prophet stood,
Raised Ali’s hand,
And declared to the skies:

“Whoever I am Master to…”
“Ali is his Master too.”

So when they asked me, Why Ali?
I smiled…
Because I had more to say,
but not enough stars in the sky
to carry the weight of his name.

Ali is not just a man.
He is a path.
He is a guide.
He is a torch in the dark.
He is devotion in motion.
He is Karrar,
The path to salvation.

Gudunmawar Sanata Barau wajen magance matsalolin Arewa maso yammacin Najeriya.

Daga cikin muhimman ƙudurai da Mataimakin Shugaban Majalisar Dattawan Najeriya, Sanata Barau I. Jibrin Maliya ya ɗauki nauyin kawowa gaban Majalisa, akwai ƙudurin samar da Hukumar Bunƙasa Arewa maso yammacin Najeriya (NWDC). Manufar wannan ƙudurin shine samar da tallafi na musamman da zai magance matsalolin da suke addabar wannan yankin.

Kamar yadda yake sanannen abu wajen ɗan Najeriya, yankin Arewa maso yamma na fuskantar matsaloli da s**a haifu sakamakon ayyukan ta'addanci da yan bindigar daji, mahara, ɓarayin daji, ƴan fashi da makami, masu garkuwa da mutane da yan Boko Haram s**a haifar, wanda s**a jawo koma baya a fannoni daban-daban na cigaban yankin.

Sanata Barau yayin gabatar da wannan ƙudurin na kafa Hukumar ta Bunƙasa Arewa maso yammacin Najeriya, ya bayyana cewa;

''Arewa Maso Yamma a matsayin sa na yanki ya bada gudummawa sosai wajen ci-gaban Najeriya musamman a fannin noma da sauran abubuwan da s**a shafi cigaban ƙasar nan, amma har yanzu yankin na fama da mummunan koma baya''

''Abinda yankin yake buƙata a yanzu shine Gwamatin Tarayya ta tallafa wajen samar da hanyoyi da kayayyakin inganta rayuwa da ilimantar da ɗimbin matasan yankin tare da samar da hanyoyin bunƙasa yankin gaba ɗaya ta yadda zai bunƙasa kamar ko fiye da sauran shiyyoyin kasar nan''.

''Ta'asar yan ta'addan bindiga da masu garkuwa da mutane sun yi matuƙar lalata ababen inganta rayuwa a sassan yankin, lamarin daya jawo ficewar masu zuba hannun jari da yan kasuwa da masu gudanar da kamfanoni da ma'aikata daga yankin. Wannan ya jawo muguwar illa ga harkokin tattalin arzikin yankin, tare da ƙarancin abinci da rashin aikin yi, wanda a baya yankin yayi ƙaurin suna wajen noma da siyar da kayan abinci a yankin Sahel''

''Don haka, wajibi ne Gwamnatin Tarayya ta mayar da hankali wajen magance waɗannan matsaloli da ƙalubale da s**a addabi yankin Arewa maso yamma a gaba ta hanyar kafa Hukumar Bunƙasa Arewa maso yamma, domin kawo ɗauki wajen magance matsalolin da s**a addabi yankin tare da yin duk abinda yankin yake da buƙata''.

Wannan ƙuduri zamu iya cewa shine abun alkairi mafi girma da Arewa maso yamma ta samu tun farkon wannan Majalisa ta 10, kuma zai shawo kan kaso mafi yawa na matsalolin da s**a addabi yankin musamman a fannin ilimi, kiwon lafiya, tsaro, kasuwanci, noma da kuma tattalin arziƙi.

Wannan ƙudurin zai taimaka wajen dawo da masana'antun da ke ficewa daga jihohin yankin, su dawo su cigaba da gudanarwa a yankin, zai kuma kara yawaita ayyukan yi ga matasan jihohin wanda a yanzu kaso mai yawa na su ke zaune babu wadatattun ayyukan da zasu yi.

Bisa dukkan alamu kuma kwalliya ta biya kuɗin sabulu, domin ƙudurin ya samu goyon baya daga yan majalisar dattijai har 20 daga yankin Arewa maso yammacin kasar nan da ma ragowar yankunan, kuma tuni anyi karatu na 2 a gaban Majalisar. Hatta shugaban majalisar Dattawan Najeriya, Sanata Godswill Akpabio ya goyi bayan kudirin inda ya bayyana cewa yankin na da tarin jama'a kuma buƙatar a bunƙasa yankin, abu ne da dace.

Kamar yadda yankin Neja-Delta suke da hukumar bunƙasa yankin Neja-Delta, yankin Arewa maso Gabas ke da Hukumar bunƙasa Arewa maso gabashin Najeriya, wanda duka aka samar da su saboda wasu matsaloli da s**a kawo cikas ga cigaban su, kuma samar da hukumomin ya haifar da abinda bahaushe ke kira 'ɗa mai ido', to tabbas samar da Hukumar a arewa maso yamma zai zama cigaba mai ɗorewa da za a mora a yankin da ma Najeriya baki daya.

Darussa 10 da na koya a wannan shekarar ta 2023.

1. A rayuwar nan kowa ka gani yana da fuska biyu ne, ɗaya ce take fara bayyana kafin ka ga ɗayar.

2. Mutane suna girmama kuɗi ne ba mutum ba.

3. Waɗanda ka fi nuna wa so a rayuwar nan sune waɗanda za su fi kowa ɓata maka.

4. In kana cikin farinciki ka kunna waƙa kana ji, zaka dinga jin daɗin kiɗan da waƙar, amma a sanda kake cikin damuwa da baƙin ciki, kana fahimtar kalmomin da ke cikin baitukan waƙar ne.

5. A rayuwa abubuwa biyu ne ke fassara wanene kai, haƙurin ka sanda baka da shi, da kuma ɗabi’ar ka bayan ka samu.

6. Mutane suna son ganin ka da kyau ne ba wai son ganin kyawun fikirar ka ba.

7. Faɗuwa na tsiraita ka a bainar jama’a, ita kuma nasara ta na lullube ka ne a cikin kaɗaici.

8. Talaka bashi da abokai, in kuwa ka ganshi da su, to tabbas abokai ne na gari.

9. Yarda gaba take da komai, da ka rusa yardar dake tsakanin ka da mutum, ka rasa komai dake tsakanin ku.

10. Ba zaka iya kawo gyara a tsakanin al’umma ba har sai ka zama irin gyaran da kake burin gani a cikin su.

As I reflect on the final months of 2023, I am overwhelmed with a deep sense of appreciation for the many blessings and accomplishments that have shaped this year. Leading a department within a media company has been one of the most significant successes, as it involves overseeing coverage of not only three Nigerian states but also three additional states outside of our country's borders. The diversity of my team has been a valuable asset in my journalism career, and it has helped me to achieve significant breakthroughs and success in 2023.

Amidst the tapestry of professional achievements, it is crucial to spotlight the instrumental personalities who have left an indelible mark on my trajectory. Khalifa Shehu Dokaji, a figure transcending friendship to embody a brother and mentor, has been an unwavering source of guidance, steering me through the complexities of the industry. Equally deserving of mention is Sayyada Rahma Abdulmajid, a celestial sister whose unwavering support and sage advice have been constant companions on this professional odyssey.

In the shadows of admiration and silent inspiration stands Malam Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, a figure whose impact defies verbal expression. His steadfast support has been a motivational force, and his footsteps have quietly guided my own for years. Their collective influence has been an enriching force, propelling me to new heights in 2023.

A unique facet of my journey this year has been the association with Senator Barau I. Jibrin, the deputy president of the Senate and my esteemed principal. Serving as his personal assistant on new media, our professional relationship transcends the conventional boundaries of boss and subordinate—it is a paternal bond, and his unwavering support has been a cornerstone of my success.

In the symphony of acknowledgments, I cannot omit the foundational pillars of my life—my parents. Their prayers and guidance have been the bedrock upon which my achievements rest. They are, without a doubt, the best thing that has ever happened to me.

As they say, behind every successful man, there must be a woman. I have been blessed with Fatima(S), my lovely wife Fatima Abdullahi Bintulhuda, whose unwavering support, love, and care have been my anchor. Additionally, my daughter’s infectious smile has been a constant source of positivity, keeping me on the spot and optimistic.

In alignment with the Hausa adage that says, “I will not fry forgetting about the onions,” I must acknowledge the invaluable role of Alhaji Ismail Mudashir in my professional journey. Working with him has been a beacon of learning and mentorship, guiding and coaching us toward achieving the best. I must confess, that working with him is indeed an ocean of learning.

To all those who have contributed to my journey—offering support, guidance, inspiration, motivation, and prayers—I extend my heartfelt appreciation. May Allah, the Most Merciful, continue to guide and protect each one of you.

As we bid farewell to the tapestry of 2023, anticipation and hope rise for the dawn of 2024. My prayer is for this forthcoming year to unfold as a canvas of even greater prosperity and success, surpassing the peaks of all the years we have traversed. Ameen.

A shekarar nan, babu wadanda s**a nuna matuƙar kulawa a gare ni ba tare da gajiyawa ba kamar Mahaifiya ta, Mahaifi na, da kuma Mata ta. Ban taɓa samun lokacin da zan ce na cinye kaso mafi yawa na shi a tafiye-tafiye ba kaman wannan shekarar, amma a tare da haka a kowanne yini ina samun kiraye-kirayen waya da sakonni daga gare su don jin ya nake, a wanne hali nake, da kuma addu'ar Allah ya cigaba da bani kariya.

Har wata addu'a na saba da jin ta a muryoyin su kullum, ''Allah ya cigaba da kare ka, ya ɗora ka akan maƙiyi, Allah ya kara ɗaukaka yayi wa rayuwa albarka''. Wannan shine kusan sirri mafi girma da na fa'idantu da shi a wannan shekarar, kuma cikin hukuncin Allah, hasken su na cigaba da bibiyar rayuwa ta.

Babban darasin da na koya na farko a shekarar nan shine, duk runtsi kada ka kuskura ka ƙi kyautatawa iyayen ka muddin suna da rai, kuma ka muhimmanta neman addu'a daga gare su sama da komai. A ko yaushe ka tuna cewa, bayan soyayyar Allah da Ahlul Kisa'i, iyaye sune mafi girma da cancantar a nuna musu soyayya, a kuma yi musu biyayya.

Allah ya saka wa iyayen mu da alkairi. Waɗanda s**a rasa iyayen su kuma muna roƙon Allah ya jikan su ya sa aljannah makomar su. Allah ya albarkaci zuriyar mu, ya saka wa matan mu da dukkan alkairi. Ameen.

As I was traveling from Kaduna to Abuja this morning, I witnessed an incident that left me absolutely mesmerized and deeply thoughtful. Right next to a Catholic hospital, a young girl wearing a bright yellow hijab got out of a taxi, paid the fare quietly, and then walked towards a parked car - which happened to be the same car I was in!

As she sought cover near my vehicle, a transformation occurred that encapsulated the complexities of identity and religion in our diverse nation. In a matter of seconds, she shed the hijab and revealed her nurse uniform underneath! With a pair of white shirts and a short skirt, devoid of any head tie, she made her way to the hospital gate.

This covert wardrobe change was both disconcerting and thought-provoking. The young woman's attire shift was not a mere sartorial choice; it was a calculated adaptation to the environment she was entering. The Catholic hospital, by virtue of its cultural and religious affiliations, might not readily embrace a nurse in traditional Muslim garb.

The consequences of this interaction go beyond the person involved. Altering one's appearance to comply with workplace norms can reinforce stereotypes and contribute to an environment where diversity is suppressed. As a society that values inclusivity and respect, we should use such situations as an opportunity to reflect on how we can build environments that embrace differences instead of mandating conformity.

This incident prompts us to ponder: In our pursuit of progress and professional excellence, how can we create workplaces that value both the skillset of the individual and the richness of their cultural and religious identity? The answer to this question may very well shape the future of a more inclusive and tolerant Nigeria.
