Today at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, I was declared affirmed winner of my party’s primaries and returned as the Labour Party candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
This declaration is the product of the trust our party, our ward executives, and our people have placed in this representation. I do not hold it lightly.
Today also confirmed the nominations of our party leaders across the ticket. His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) was affirmed as the consensus candidate for the Abia State Governorship. Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex was affirmed as the consensus candidate for the Abia North Senatorial ticket. Hon. Uchenna Okoro Kalu was affirmed for Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Chief Kalu Mba Nwoke for Ohafia South State Constituency, and Hon. Mkpa Oju Uka for Ohafia North State Constituency.
One party. One direction. One team.
The primary is done. The work continues. The mandate to finish what we started is now formally in hand.
To every party faithful across Arochukwu and Ohafia who showed up, who stood firm, and who made this moment possible, thank you.
2027. Continuity. Arochukwu/Ohafia First. Ibe STILL Means Business. OTTI4+4.
I joined His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti (OFR) and distinguished guests at the activities marking the third anniversary of his administration. Three years of work that Abia State can see, the roads, the bridges, the water schemes, the schools, the bus terminal, the electricity restoration. For Arochukwu/Ohafia, the results of this partnership are on the ground and growing. Congratulations, Your Excellency. The work continues.
Later in the day, I paid a condolence visit to our Super Eagles and AC Milan star, Samuel Chukwueze, as he laid his beloved mother to rest in Umuahia. Losing a mother is a particular kind of grief. I pray that God grants Samuel and his entire family the comfort and peace that only He can give in this season.
Three years ago, His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti (OFR) took the oath of office and made a promise to Abia State. Three years later, the receipts are on the ground.
For Arochukwu/Ohafia specifically, those three years have meant the Omenuko Bridge finally commissioned. The Ndi Okereke Abam–Okobo–Amuvi Road delivered. The Ohafia–Arochukwu Highway flagged off. The Smart Schools model, conceived in our constituency, adopted as state policy across 17 LGAs. The electricity restoration work ongoing. The Greater Ohafia Development Authority signed into law.
These are not gifts. They are the product of a working partnership between a Governor who responds when his allies make the case, and a representative who has been inside that conversation from the beginning.
I have had the privilege of working alongside His Excellency for three years. I have seen the discipline, the seriousness, and the refusal to settle for less than what Abia deserves. It has shaped how I approach my own work.
Congratulations, Your Excellency, on three years of visible, accountable, people-focused governance. The work is not finished. But the foundation is solid.
To many more years of faithful service to Abia State.
Ahead of Saturday’s primaries and the broader 2027 electoral season, I hosted the Labour Party executives and key stakeholders of Arochukwu Local Government Area at my country home in Ebem Ohafia.
The Member representing Arochukwu State Constituency, Hon. Okoro Uchenna Kalu, The Mayor of Arochukwu LGA, the Deputy Mayor, state government appointees from Arochukwu, local government party executives, and foundational party stakeholders were all present. The room was full. The conversation was serious.
We spoke about unity, discipline, and what it takes to protect and build on the historic mandate our party earned in 2023. We spoke about the primary process and the importance of conducting it with the transparency and peace that our people deserve. And we spoke about alignment, ensuring that what we are building at the local government level connects to the broader vision of His Excellency Governor Otti’s administration for Abia State.
The resolve in that room was clear and unanimous. Arochukwu is ready. The Labour Party in Arochukwu/Ohafia is moving in one direction.
Today I had the privilege of representing my dear friend and brother, Chief Chijioke James Ume (Ike Abam), at the official handover of a brand new four-bedroom apartment to Elder Kalu Ena of Atan Abam, built and donated entirely by Chief Ume through his Unubiko Foundation.
This is philanthropy in its purest form. No political agenda. No campaign season. Just a man who has been blessed, choosing to use that blessing to change the life of one family in his community.
Elder Kalu Ena now has a home. And the community of Atan Abam has seen what it looks like when a son of the land gives back with his whole heart.
I am proud to call Chief Chijioke James Ume my brother and friend. The Unubiko Foundation continues to set a standard worth celebrating.
Yesterday I joined His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti (OFR) for the commissioning of the Nnenna Oti Bus Terminal in Umuahia, a multimodal transport hub accommodating over 340 buses, powered by sustainable infrastructure, and already operating with 20 electric buses.
What struck me most was the name chosen for this facility. Prof. Nnenna Nnennaya-Oti served as the INEC Returning Officer in the 2023 Abia governorship election. She stood for the truth under pressure. The Governor chose to honour that integrity with a permanent landmark. That choice tells you something about the kind of leadership we are working with.
A modern, sustainable transport hub in the state capital. Electric buses on the road. A Governor who names public infrastructure after ordinary people who did the right thing.
Happy Children’s Day to every child across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and beyond.
Today belongs to you. To your curiosity, your laughter, your questions that adults cannot always answer, and your futures that are still being written.
To the parents, teachers, and community leaders who pour into our children every day, thank you. The work you do shapes what our constituency becomes long after any political cycle has passed.
The Smart Schools, the scholarships, the classroom blocks, these are not just projects. They are our statement that the children of Arochukwu/Ohafia deserve every opportunity available anywhere in the world. We will keep building toward that.
Yesterday I joined His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti (OFR) in Aba for the commissioning of 14 newly completed road projects and the flag-off of the first phase of the Aba Ring Road.
Three years in office. Fourteen roads commissioned in a single day. This is what a Governor serious about delivery looks like.
Abia is rising under this leadership. And Arochukwu/Ohafia will continue to stand with it.
On Monday, I joined the Ebem Ohafia Development Union and their Youth Wing for a community road clearance exercise along the Ada Udumaeze/Iyi-Opele axis in Ebem Ohafia.
The EODU has been working systematically to ensure that Ebem’s road network serves its residents, farmers, and traders the way it should. When the Union organised this exercise, I came to back them, deploying the constituency pay-loader, which had earlier been working on farm roads in Ututu, and providing diesel to power the operation.
The operation was led by First Vice President General Ogwo Ukpola Eke, representing President General Chief Engr. Uduma Olugu Iroha, with the Youth Wing coordinated by Chairman Amadi-Olua Onwuka. It was organised, purposeful, and community-driven.
I also took note of the appeal from community leadership regarding the rehabilitation of the Ebem Daily Market, which has suffered from erosion damage and years of neglect. That is a matter I will be engaging on.
A community that organises itself around its own development deserves a representative who shows up for it. That is what Monday was about.
Yesterday, I joined His Excellency Dr. Alex C. Otti (OFR) and distinguished guests at the thanksgiving service marking the third anniversary of his administration, held at the Event Centre by Okpara Square, Umuahia.
It was a moment of genuine reflection, not celebration for its own sake, but gratitude for what God has done through the work of the past three years. From there, we proceeded to Uzuakoli Road for the flag-off of the Ecumenical Centre, a personal covenant between the Governor and God, privately funded, a testament to the kind of leadership that does not separate public service from personal faith.
We then moved to Laguru in Ubakala, Umuahia South LGA, for the flag-off of the ₦1.3 billion rehabilitation of the Ubakala Water Scheme and the Ariaria Water Scheme in Aba. Clean water for thousands of families across Umuahia and Aba, this is what a government that prioritises people looks like.
Three years in. The work continues. And the partnership between Arochukwu/Ohafia and this administration remains solid. It is a partnership that has delivered for our people from the Omenuko Bridge to the Ohafia-Arochukwu Highway, from the Smart Schools model to the ongoing electricity restoration efforts. Three years of results our constituency can see and feel.
Congratulations, Your Excellency. To many more years of faithful service.
