25-year-old Man Stabbed to Death by Friend Over Woman in Ilorin

A 25-year-old man, Hammed Usman Tunde, was allegedly stabbed to death by his friend, one Gafar during a dispute reportedly over girl friend.

Sobi FM gathered that the incident occurred on Tuesday at Oja Gboro area of Ilorin when the two friends, said to be close companions, got into an argument while patronizing a Hausa sugarcane seller.

Eyewitnesses say the heated exchange quickly turned violent, leading the 21 year old suspect Gafar allegedly stabbing Tunde in the chest with a knife.

The victim, a resident of Ile-Soro 2, in Oja Gboro Isale Koko area of Ilorin was rushed to a nearby private hospital but was later referred to the General Hospital, Ilorin, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The suspect, identified as a native of Ile Olowo in the same area, reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack, and his whereabouts, along with that of his family members, remain unknown as at the time of this report .

Speaking to Sobi FM, the deceased’s sister described the incident as heartbreaking, calling on the state government and security agencies to ensure justice is served.

She said her brother was peaceful and never deserved to die in such a cruel manner.

The deceased has however been laid to rest today according to Islamic rites at their family house at Ile-Soro 2 in Oja Gboro, Isale Koko, area Ilorin.
