MENSURAL HYGIENE DAY CELEBRATION.

Today, CYMS observed the Menstrual Hygiene Day where an Outreach was jointly organized by CYMS and Beth Abels Girls for Child Education to promote awareness, education, and access to proper menstrual hygiene for young girls, especially in underserved communities.

The awareness program which took place at the Gishiri Community in Abuja had the attendance of many girls who still face challenges such as lack of sanitary products, limited knowledge, and social stigma around menstruation.

The outreach aims to bridge that gap by providing sanitary pads, education and mentorship.

CYMS Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka while thanking our Admin Officer, Mrs Amarah Joseph for her dedication towards this program, Hon Kelechi Ugwumba CYMS's Director Contacts and Mobilization, Mr Seun Okunola, Ms Ada for their participation, he also utilized the medium to observe the distribution of sanitary pad.

CYMS FELICITATES WITH MUSLIMS ON 2026 EID EL KABIR CELEBRATION.

Today, Wednesday 27th May 2026, the CYMS's Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka has joined well meaning Nigerians to celebrate the Eid El Kabir.

Chief Obinna Nwaka while felicitating with the Muslims faithfuls, friends, colleagues and Members of CYMS nationwide, he urges them to embrace the spirit of unity, humanitarian services and ensure peaceful coexistence.

Today, Friday 22nd May 2026, the Honourable Minister for Youth Development, Mr Ayodele Olawande joined the management, staff, corps members, and stakeholders of the National Youth Service Corps in celebrating the 53rd Anniversary of one of Nigeria’s most respected nation-building institutions.

According to the Minister, for over five decades, the NYSC has remained a powerful symbol of sacrifice, patriotism, resilience, and national unity. Beyond the khaki uniform, the Scheme has helped generations of young Nigerians build friendships across ethnic and religious lines, serve communities etc

He commended the leadership and management of the Scheme for their dedication to preserving the ideals of national unity and youth development despite changing realities.

CYMS RECEIVED A COOPERATIVE SOCIETY

Today, Thursday 21st May 2026 our organization received members from the United Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative led by Mrs Uduak Obot the Cooperate Manager.

The meeting centered on avenues to foster socio economic development of our members, support for SMEs and investment, Health Insurance coverage and other end of your dividends.

In reaction, CYMS Director General Chief Obinna Nwaka appreciates them for the encouragement, and also expressed optimism in the partnership.

CYMS TEAM ATTENDED YOUNG WOMEN IN GOVERNANCE & PEACE BUILDING FORUM 2026

Today, Tuesday 19th May 2026, CYMS team led the Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka attended the 2026 conference organized by the Young Women of Africa (Nigeria chapter) held at the NAF Conference Center Abuja.

The conference with the theme: Young Women leading change: Governance, inclusion and Peace also attracted lots of dignitaries from across Africa and other reputable organizations where Chief Obinna Nwaka served as Guest Speaker.

The high point of the event was recognition and award where CYMS's Director General was also honoured by the organization.

He thanked the organizers and Country Head Nigeria, Ambassador Idris Asmawu Omeiza for finding him worthy while dedicating the award to CYMS female members and volunteers.

Other members of the delegation were Hon Kelechi Ugwumba CYMS's Director Contacts and Mobilization, Mr Emmanuel Adimma, Favour Nwankwo, Ada, Clever Waka, Jennifer, Princess Mimi Peters etc

HON AISHA BAIYEE RECEIVED BY THE SGF, SEN GEORGE AKUME

Following the appointment of Hon Aisha Baiyee as a Governing Council Member at the Maryam Babangida Women Development Center.

Yesterday, His Excellency Senator George Akume CON played a host to her along with her colleagues to formalize their appointments

The SGF praised her dedication, loyalty and consistency, describing Hajia Baiyee Aisha as a worthy daughter one can trust with a sensitive and demanding role.

CYMS DIRECTOR APPIONTED BY PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFR.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has appointed Hon Aisha Baiyee as a Board Member representing the North East at the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD) for an initial term of four (4) years.

In a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, CON, and issued by the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, mni, the appointment, which takes effect immediately.

The newly appointed, Hon Aisha Baiyee popularly known as Commander is a grassroots politician, women leader and the CYMS's Director of Finance.

According to the CYMS's Director General, Chief Obinna Nwaka, he described the appointm inent as timely, a well deserved and welcome development.
