Happy April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children's Day!

This day marks the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye in 1920, and is a gift from the founder of our Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, to the children of the world. 🇹🇷🎈

H.E. Yaşar Güler, Minister of National Defence of Türkiye, and H.E. Christopher Gwabin Musa, Minister of Defence of Nigeria, held a meeting in Antalya on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. 🇹🇷🇳🇬

Ambassador Mehmet Poroy met with H.E. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Executive Governor of Adamawa State, during the visit he made to Yola for the distribution ceremony of the food aid by the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (AFAD).

Ambassador Mehmet Poroy has attended the distribution ceremony of 36 tons of food aid to people in need in Adamawa State through Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

The aid, sent in coordination with UN humanitarian agencies, was distributed at the Malkohi Internally Displaced Persons Camp near Yola, the capital of Adamawa State.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Poroy underlined that Türkiye is among the leading countries in humanitarian assistance, saying: “These aid efforts aim to alleviate, even to a small extent, the hardships faced by people struggling to survive under difficult conditions.”

Ambassador Poroy added that Türkiye is also offering additional support to Nigeria in the fight against insecurity.

The meeting centered on advancing the outcomes of H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Ankara in January, with a particular focus on follow-up actions and strengthening bilateral cooperation.

During his visit to Kano, Ambassador Mehmet Poroy visited the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA) and held a productive meeting with officials on ways to further strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
