Tonight we would like to talk about what happens when society fails to provide Affordable Housing.

Overcrowding typically correlates with urban growth in the absence of adequate housing supplies to satisfy demand generated by additional households.

The government of many capital cities have responded to urban growth by reducing the amount of land available to each household.

Such government policies lead to inflation in the housing market, land prices have skyrocketed over the last several years in many African cities which led to the upsurge in black market real estate because they want to meet demand.

To and to build for our generation we need committed public private partnership.

How Sustainable Urbanization contributes to Development?

Creating "urban" places without adequate urban infrastructure is a recipe for slum cities.

It is a very recent phenomenom for the organized private sector to ne involved in infrastructure provision and management.

Investment in and contribution of building and construction to the Nigerian economy has been historically low.

It is estimated that the share of core infrastructure to GDP in Nigeria is between 35-40 % as at 2012 while our neighbour - South Africa's - share is 87% .

We seek a public private partnership to change the trend. visit us at www.buildfornigeria.com

Children are the future of Nigeria, if we must reduce the 70% of the urban dwellers living in slums and poor housing conditions, we must prioritize children in our housing plan so they can have a conducive environment to learn and dream.
