Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service gets new Executive Chairman
Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu, has been appointed as the new Executive Chairman of Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service by Governor Abdullahi Sule.
Alhaji Adamu succeeds Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad, whose successful tenure ended recently.
A press release by the Corporate Affairs, Taxpayers' Relations and Public Relations unit of Service indicates that Alhaji Adamu assumed office after a handing over from the Secretary of the Nasarawa Board of Internal Revenue Service, Alhaji Ahmad Khalid.

Kogi State IRS clamp-down on extortioners posing as revenue agents
The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service has arrested some persons for mounting roadblocks and extorting money from motorists under the guise of revenue collection.
Recall that the Joint Revenue Board which is the apex body for coordination and harmonisation of revenue administration in Nigeria banned the mounting of roadblocks for revenue collection and abolished the production and sales of road stickers and emblems, in December 2025.
The Public Relations Officer of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Muhammed Mukhtar, said the suspected extortioners were arrested in Ajegwu community, Ofu local government, where they mounted a roadblock and collected “Environmental and Forestry fees” from motorists.
Other suspects were arrested in Ejule and Ajaokuta while collecting what they called “federal haulage”.
The suspects will be prosecuted accordingly.

Gombe State IRS organises 5-Day Training for Staff on New Tax Acts
Gombe State Internal Revenue Service (GIRS) has organised a five-day capacity training on the New Tax Act for its staff to enhance assimilation and institutional efficiency.
The training designed to deepen staff understanding of the provisions, structure, and application of the new tax Acts, had 100 staff members from various departments across the Service in attendance.
The Executive Chairman of GIRS, Aisha Adamu FCNA, said the training is essential to ensure that all tax officers fully understand the provisions of the New Tax Acts.
