Tittle: Betrayed

Narrator's POV ✨

He came into my room and touched my breasts, while fully clothed.

I was in my fourth year, a passionate advocate for virginity, fervently warning my roommates against promiscuous practices, and a vibrant worker on campus. Yet, I had one undeniable weakness: Kwame.

He was the only guy I had truly liked since entering university. Unlike other guys, he respected me, and I felt genuinely comfortable around him. In fact, I affectionately nicknamed him "my brother," hoping that would keep our relationship plain and simple. He was the top student in our class, and I treasured the bond we shared. In the second semester of my third year, he began to express his feelings towards me, but I hesitated to consent to his advances.

My roommates knew him as a platonic friend, although two of them frequently teased me about starting a relationship with him.

"This your spiricoco thing, ehnn, it's blinding your eyes o! I’ve never seen this guy with any girl on campus," they would say. "The guy loves you for real; you should start something serious so he can become your husband!"

That fateful day, I was alone in the room while my roommates had gone for lectures. Kwame was a regular visitor, always coming over when my roommates were around because he respected my boundaries.

However, on this day, he entered when no one else was there. I initially thought it was my roommates, and because I hadn’t locked the door, he slipped in without knocking and, shockingly, groped my breast. Honestly, I don’t know why I didn’t react immediately, and that was precisely when all four of my roommates walked in.

As I turned around, ready to slap him, they erupted into laughter.

"Hahahaha, our sister, our sister!" one of them began.

"The most spiricoco with a touch of hypo..." another chimed in, high-fiving her friend while laughing heartily.

"Oh, you mean hypocrisy?" the other two continued, their laughter ringing in the air.

The snake bit the chicken and, with the poison burning in her body, she sought refuge in the chicken coop.

But the other hens preferred to expel her, fearing that the poison would spread.

The chicken limped away, crying in pain. Not for the bite, but for the abandonment and disdain of his own family, just when he needed it the most.

And just like that he walked away...... burning with fever, dragging a leg, vulnerable to cold nights.

With every step, a tear came down.

The chickens in the chicken coop watched her move away, until they saw her disappear into the horizon. Some said :

– Let her go... he will die far from us.

And when the chicken finally disappeared into the vastness of the horizon, they were all certain that she was dead.

Some even looked up into the sky, hoping to see vultures fly.

Time has passed.

Much later, a hummingbird came to the chicken coop and announced:

– Your sister lives! He lives in a cave not far from here.

She recovered, but lost a leg due to a snake bite.

He is having a hard time finding food and needs your help.

Silence followed. Then the excuses began:

– I can't go, I'm laying eggs...

– I can't go, I'm looking for corn...

– I can't go, I have to take care of my chicks...

So, one after another, they all rejected the request.

The hummingbird returned to the cave, without any help.

Time passed again.

Much later, the hummingbird returned with painful news:

– Your sister is dead... she died alone in the cave... there's no one to bury her or mourn her.

At that moment, a burden weighs on everyone. A deep complaint filled the chicken coop.

Whoever was laying eggs stopped.

He who searched for corn left the seeds behind.

Whoever took care of the chicks, for a moment, forgot about it.

Regret hurts more than any poison.

"Why didn't we go earlier? ", they asked.

And without measuring distance or effort, everyone left for the cave, crying and complaining.

Now they had a reason to see her, but it was too late.

TRUE LIFE STORY(True love still exists)

A boy and a girl lived together as boyfriend and girlfriend. After a couple of years, the guy finally graduated and decided to further his studies overseas. . Before leaving, he proposed to the girl: “I’m not very good with words. But, all I know is that, I love you.
If you allow me, I will take care of You for The rest of my life. The girl agreed and with the guy’s determination, the girl's family gave in and agreed to let them Get married.. Before he left they got engaged. . The girl went out working, whereas the guy was overseas continuing his studies. They sent their love through emails and phone calls.. Though it was hard but both of them never thought of giving up. .
One day while the girl was on her way to work she was knocked down by a car that lost control. When she woke up, she saw her parents beside her bed. She realized she was badly injured. Seeing her mum cry, she wanted to comfort her but she realized that all that could come out of her mouth was just a sigh. She had lost her voice…. The doctor said that the impact on her brain has caused her to lose her voice..
Upon reaching home everything seemed to be the same Except for the ringing tone of the phone which pierced into her heart everytime it rang. She does not wish to let the guy know and not wanting to be a burden to him, she wrote a letter to him saying that she does not wish to wait any longer. With that, she sent the ring back to him. In return the guy sent many replies and countless phone calls but all the girl could do was just to cry..
Her parents decided to move away hoping she would eventually forget everything and be happy. With a new environment, the girl learnt sign language and started a new life, Telling herself everyday that she must forget the guy. . One day her friend came and told her that he’s back. She asked her friend not to let him know what happened to her. Since then there wasn’t anymore news of him.
