Happy Reptile Awareness Day 2025
Today is ! 🐍🐢🦎
From snakes that control rodent populations to turtles that clean up waterways, reptiles play an essential role in keeping our ecosystems balanced.
Yet many reptile species face threats from habitat loss, illegal trade, and fear-driven killings. Every time we protect a forest, a wetland, or a grassland, we safeguard their homes too. 🌿
Let’s replace fear with understanding — and celebrate these incredible creatures that silently maintain nature’s balance.
💚 Protect their habitats.
💚 End the illegal wildlife trade.
💚 Educate others about their importance.

🦏💧From rhino protection to drought monitoring, connected networks are helping conservation teams act faster, smarter and more sustainably. We’re proud that our collaborative work has been recognised by the IUCN PANORAMA Solutions community and featured in the newly released NatureTech Solutions Report!
Across Africa, many parks lack the connectivity and infrastructure needed for effective conservation. Together with partners including Actility, Cisco, EarthRanger, Northern Rangelands Trust, Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, Big Life Foundation, Kenya Wildlife Service), Uganda Wildlife Authority, The Safari Collection Footprint Trust, Lapalala Wilderness, Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and Loisaba Conservancy, we’ve been building long-range, low-power IoT networks that enable real-time monitoring and smarter protection of wildlife, people and natural resources.
Since our first pilot in 2019, over 1,000 sensors now span precious wildlands across Kenya, South Africa and Uganda — powering conservation operations, early-warning systems and climate resilience efforts. These networks are helping track rhinos, elephants, livestock, rainfall and water, while cutting costs and reducing external IT dependence.
A huge thank you to our partners, field teams and local technicians whose innovation and commitment make this possible 💚👏
We’re thrilled to see technology-driven conservation recognised for its impact, from improving ranger safety and helping prevent poaching, to reconnecting rhino habitats and supporting coexistence in the face of drought and climate stress.
Well done to all the incredible projects represented in this year’s report. hashtag isn't going away, and we're blown away by how this sector is supporting conservation 🙌
