During my Keynote Address, "Bridging Research and Policy," at the Nuffield Department Task Shifting Symposium, I had the privilege of sharing our most practical policy success: The HMO Payment Breakthrough.

Our decision to provide comprehensive baby kits and solar lamps led to increased patronage from neighboring states, challenging existing healthcare payment protocols. This initiative culminated in a successful policy bridge, ensuring that Nasarawa HMOs now pay FCT hospitals for services rendered to their residents.

This milestone reflects our unwavering commitment to practical solutions and continuous improvement in service delivery, ensuring no pregnant woman is turned back.

Yesterday at the Task-Shifting Symposium in Abuja, we tackled one of the most critical conversations in healthcare: saving mothers and bridging the workforce

I had the honor of capturing the Mandate Secretary, Health Services & Environment Secretariat, Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe, as she delivered a powerful Keynote Address.
She emphasized that while we have made progress, the urgency to reduce maternal mortality requires bold reforms
-specifically, the effective implementation of Task-Shifting within our Primary Health Care systems.
In collaboration with the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences (University of Oxford), this session isn't just about research; it's about actionable policy.

It's about equipping our frontline workforce with the skills and supervision they need to deliver quality care to every woman, regardless of location 🇳🇬🤝🇬🇧

The message is clear: To achieve universal health coverage, we must innovate, collaborate, and empower our health worktorce.

Air Pollution isn't just a cough-it's costing lives and billions.
