The Ekiti State Youth Parliament appreciates His Excellency, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Governor of Ekiti State, for the inclusion of a representative of the Ekiti youth constituency in the Campaign Council for his re-election.
This thoughtful gesture once again reflects the Governor’s consistent commitment to youth inclusion, participatory governance, and the recognition of young people as critical stakeholders in the development of our state. By creating room for young voices at such an important strategic level, His Excellency continues to demonstrate that governance in Ekiti is not only about the present, but also about deliberately preparing the next generation of leaders.
For us in the Ekiti State Youth Parliament, this nomination is not merely symbolic. It is a reaffirmation of the Governor’s belief that young people must not only be heard but must also be entrusted with responsibility in shaping the political and developmental future of Ekiti State.
The Parliament also notes that the Speaker of the Ekiti State Youth Parliament has consistently expressed confidence in the projects and policies of this administration, and led the Youths of the state to endorse and adopt him as candidate as early as first week of July 2024 reflecting the belief among many young people that this government continues to create meaningful space for youth participation in governance and public leadership.
We therefore view this gesture as a clear indication that the culture of youth inclusion that has characterized this administration will continue to deepen. The youth constituency in Ekiti remains willing partners in advancing this vision and supporting the continued progress of our state.

Toba Ayo Fatunla,
Since 2020, I have been one of the first people to celebrate you on your birthday. This year is different. I am perhaps among the last to wish you a happy birthday, and that is only because I have been on my beginning-of-the-year phone break.
Boda Toba, you have held my hand. You have fought my cause. You have mentioned my name in rooms opportunity.
You are diligent, different, dependable, and capable. I have erred many times, yet you never stopped calling me back with love each time. That alone sets you apart from the familiar/popular Ekiti political culture of “followers errors are neither pointed out nor corrected, punishments are just meted out.” Your leadership is intentional, intellectual, and far removed from tokenism, agberoism or gragraism.
Thank you for being deliberate with my journey. Thank you for the prestige you have built around the Ekiti State Youth Parliament, Office of the Speaker. You know what we have had to endure to preserve the integrity of that office.
Thank you once again, Toba Fatunla. You are phenomenal, and I love you deeply.
Happy birthday, Difference.
Tunde Olusanya
4th Speaker, Ekiti State Youth Parliament.

Two Years of Purpose, Progress and Unwavering Service

It is a reflection of dedication, growth and relentless commitment to the advancement of Ekiti youth. Over the past two years, we have demonstrated that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow, we are active builders of today. Through debates, community engagements, advocacy visits and policy conversations, we have proven that our voices carry weight and our impact reaches far beyond the chamber.

EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION: HON. AKINSOLA O. DAVID LAUNCHES LIFE-CHANGING SKILL ACQUISITION PROGRAM IN EKITI.
_Ido/Osi, Ekiti State August 8, 2025._
In a bold move to combat youth unemployment and promote self-reliance, Hon. Akinsola O. David, a vibrant voice in the Ekiti State Youth Parliament representing Ido/Osi Constituency 2, hosted a transformative Skill Acquisition Program that left participants inspired and equipped for the future.
The initiative, organized in collaboration with RTR Dosumu Oluwakemisola, founder of DHR Empowerment Ville, trained dozens of enthusiastic youths in the production of vital daily-use products such as Izal, Dettol, hair cream, shampoo, and face oil. The turnout, described by observers as “overwhelming and encouraging,” reflected a growing hunger among young people for practical, income-generating skills.
Among the dignitaries present were Mr. Olaniyi Oladunjoye, National Chairman of the Ayetoro Ekiti Progressive Union (APU), ably represented by Mr. Omoleye Gabriel, the Union’s Public Relations Officer. Also in attendance were Rtr. Dosumu Oluwakemisola ably represented by Mrs Funmilayo Afolayan, Hon. Oluwabanjo Mayowa John, Youth Parliament member for Ido/Osi Constituency 1, Comr. Ige Oluwaseun Anthony, National President of the Ido/Osi LG Students Union, and several student union leaders across the constituency.
In his address, Mr. Omoleye Gabriel called on the youth to foster unity and support one another in meaningful pursuits, describing skill acquisition as "an essential tool in today’s fast-changing economy." He further charged student representatives to champion similar developmental initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the local student union bodies, Comr. Kayode Oluwafemi, President of the Ilogbo Ekiti Students Union, lauded Hon. Akinsola and RTR Dosumu for spearheading the program. "This is more than a workshop, it’s a lifeline," he said, urging participants to treat the opportunity with dedication and commitment.
Hon. Akinsola, in his keynote remarks, emphasized the urgency of equipping young people with marketable skills that lead to financial independence. He pledged continued support, announcing a unique incentive, participants who successfully establish and sustain their businesses for at least four months will receive financial empowerment grants to scale up.
Today is the beginning of something powerful, Akinsola declared. You now hold in your hands the tools to change your lives and uplift your communities.
The event concluded on a high note, as beneficiaries expressed sincere appreciation for the initiative. Several attendees described the experience as “eye-opening” and “life-changing,” vowing to make the most of their new skills.
With energy, optimism, and gratitude in the air, this program marked not just a training session, but a turning point in the journey toward youth empowerment in Ido/Osi and perhaps, a model for others across Ekiti State.
