"The era of importing artisans from other African countries to carry out projects is gone." Said the Director General, Ekiti State Bureau of Local Content, Mr. Olalekan ijidale to the news men in Ado-Ekiti, concerning the recent Atikankan urban Renewal Project.
The government will engage indigenous artisans and suppliers registered under the office for the proposed urban renewal project in Atikankan area of Ado Ekiti.
This plan is part of the strategies by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji to give the people a sense of belongings and boost the economy of the state. His Excellency, the Governor of Ekiti state has directed that the Local artisans and private sector should be given priority in the project.
The DG noted with clarity that, The government would continue to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs and skilled workers to operate successfully. This would give work opportunities to the youths, which in turn indirectly promotes the local economy and shifts their attention away from crime.
However, he called on skilled workers in Ekiti State to make themselves available and also deliver every project assigned to them well so to justify the confidence of the government in them.
