EKITI STATE POLICE COMMAND
PRESS RELEASE: INTERNAL SECURITY ; Ekiti State Police Command arrests one suspected thief, recovers a face mask and a motorcycle.
On 27/3/2026, the Command received a distress information that some suspected thieves, who came on a motorcycle, forcefully entered some hostels where Students of Ekiti State University(EKSU), Iworoko-Ekiti, reside and stole their phones.
Upon the receipt of the information, Iworoko Divisional Police Headquarters swung into action and arrest one of the suspects on 30/3/2026 at about 0230hrs.
Items recovered from him are; a face mask and a motorcycle suspected to have been used to perpetrate the act.
He has been transfered to the State Headquarters for thorough investigation, possible arrest of the fleeing suspects and prosecution.
The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP FALADE ADEGOROYE MICHAEL, charges everyone to be security conscious and promptly report to the Police any ugly incident or suspicious persons found in their environment, as necessary measures have been put in place to forestall the reoccurrence of such incident and other ugly incidents in the area and anywhere across the State.
