The Edo State Government, under the leadership of the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has unveiled sweeping opportunities across agriculture, energy, mining, tourism, Innovation and technology, as it opens its trade doors to UK Investors in its investment drive.
In a goodwill message before a distinguished gathering of business leaders, investors and members of both the Nigerian-British business communities, the Commissioner for Business Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor delivered a compelling call to action at the official launch reception of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) UK, which took place at the Nigerian High Commission in London, inviting UK entrepreneurs and institutions to explore the vast commercial frontier opening up in Edo State.
The message to the UK business community was direct and clear: visit Edo State, explore its opportunities, and help build a prosperous future together. He pointed that the collaboration between Edo State government and the UK business community can unlock enormous economic opportunities that will benefit both the people and businesses.

The Edo State Government, under the leadership of the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has unveiled sweeping opportunities across agriculture, energy, mining, tourism, Innovation and technology, as it opens its trade doors to UK Investors in its investment drive.
In a goodwill message before a distinguished gathering of business leaders, investors and members of both the Nigerian-British business communities, the Commissioner for Business Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor delivered a compelling call to action at the official launch reception of the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) UK, which took place at the Nigerian High Commission in London, inviting UK entrepreneurs and institutions to explore the vast commercial frontier opening up in Edo State.
The Commissioner set out a vision of a modern, diversified economy ready to welcome international capital. He said Edo State is not only inviting investors, but offering partnerships built on trust, mutual growth, and long-term sustainability, while underlining that the government of Edo State sees investment not as a transaction but as a relationship.
The message to the UK business community was direct and clear: visit Edo State, explore its opportunities, and help build a prosperous future together. He pointed that the collaboration between Edo State government and the UK business community can unlock enormous economic opportunities that will benefit both the people and businesses.
Earlier in his welcome address, the President and Chairman of Council, Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce NBCC, Prince Abimbola Olashore, highlighted the organisation’s renewed vision of creating stronger commercial relationships, while encouraging investments, and supporting business networking opportunities between the Nigerian and British enterprises.
In his remarks, the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Execellency, Ambassador Amin Dalhatu reaffirmed the commitment of the Commission to supporting trade diplomacy, private sector collaboration, and economic engagement between both nations.
Delivering the keynote speech, the UK member of Parliament/UK Trade Envoy to Nigeria Ghana, Florence Eshalomi, spoke passionately about the importance of economic cooperation, diaspora engagement, and sustainable commercial partnerships between the both countries.
The official launch had in attendance, business diplomats, executives, investors, including the Group CEO Landmark Africa Group, Paul Onwuanibe, the MD, First Bank of Nigeria, representatives of Access Bank UK, members of the Trade and Investment Section of the Nigerian High Commission, and other distinguished UK and Nigerian business leaders.
Highlight of activities was a toast to the game changing event, where expectations were to move from talks to trade and have trade testimonials.

The Edo State Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor has urged students in the state to identify with government-backed initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, stressing that such programmes are designed to equip young people with business and entrepreneurial skills while steering them away from crime and other anti-social activities.
Hon. Anabor disclosed this while speaking to Etsako Students Union who were on a courtesy visit to his office, the Commissioner said Unions/Associations should serve as platforms that bring tangible benefits to members, adding that the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo is committed to creating opportunities that will positively engage youths and keep them off the streets.
He further advised the students to remain focused and desist from activities that endanger lives and threaten societal peace.
Earlier, the President of the Etsako Students Union, University of Benin/UBTH, Comrade Ikelebe Solomon said the delegation was in the ministry to establish a cordial relationship with the ministry and formally introduce the newly elected executives to the Commissioner.
Highlight was the presentation of a gift card to the Hon. Commissioner.

The Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, alongside the Permanent Secretary and management team, paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Geographic Information Service (EdoGIS) to congratulate its newly appointed Managing Director, Dr. Innocent Ehiaguina Bello, while seeking the agency’s support in identifying and facilitating the allocation of un-utilized lands across the three senatorial districts of Edo State for investment driven projects aimed at boosting economic growth, food security and industrial development in the state. The collaboration aligns with the vision of Governor Monday Okpebholo and the implementation of the administration’s 5-point SHINE Agenda.
The Edo State Commissioner for Business, Trade and Investment, Hon. Omoh Anabor, has expressed appreciation to the Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo for the provision of three official buses to the ministry to boost its operations across the state.
