ADC MOURNS THE PASSING OF MAMA MARY AMAECHI
The African Democratic Congress extends its deepest condolences to our Vice Presidential Candidate, His Excellency Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, CON, on the passing of his beloved mother, Mrs. Mary Amaechi. We also extend our sympathies to the entire Amaechi family as they mourn the loss of a matriarch whose love, guidance and strength helped shape generations.
A mother's influence reaches far beyond the walls of her home. It is reflected in the values she imparts, the sacrifices she makes, and the lives she leaves better than she found them. While the pain of such a loss cannot be measured, we hope the Amaechi family will find comfort in a life well lived, in cherished memories, and in the prayers of millions of Nigerians who mourn with them today.
On behalf of our National Chairman, Senator David Mark, GCON, the National Working Committee, and members of our great Party across the country, we pray that Almighty God grants Mrs. Mary Amaechi eternal rest, and grants her family strength, comfort and peace in the days ahead.
Signed:
Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi

🔥Breaking: INEC Confirms Receiving 471 Candidates Submitted by David Mark-Led ADC, Rejects Nafiu Bala's Claims
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has effectively put to rest lingering questions over the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), confirming that it is dealing exclusively with the Senator David Mark-led leadership of the party ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a development that weakens the position of the rival faction, INEC disclosed that it granted the David Mark-led leadership access to its candidate nomination portal in line with the Supreme Court judgment affirming its leadership of the party.
Speaking to The PUNCH, INEC National Commissioner, Mohammed Haruna, revealed that the Commission has already received nominations from the Mark-led ADC for 471 elective positions, comprising 2 presidential candidates, 109 senatorial candidates, and 360 House of Representatives candidates.
According to Haruna, the Commission's decision was guided strictly by the Supreme Court's ruling, which recognised the David Mark-led leadership.
«"We gave the Mark-led faction the code based on the recent Supreme Court judgment that affirmed his leadership of the party. The faction has since submitted most of its candidates for a total of 471 elective positions," he said.»
Haruna also dismissed suggestions that the rival faction enjoys any recognition by the electoral body, stressing that INEC has no legal basis to accept nominations from a group that failed to secure judicial recognition.
He added that the Supreme Court never directed the Commission to recognise or accept submissions from the rival faction, which had already lost its appeal for recognition.
