GOVERNOR BALA MOHAMMED MOURNS THE PASSING OF ALHAJI AMADU LAUSHI
The Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Fnipr ( Kauran Daular Usmaniyya ) has received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Alhaji Amadu Laushi, a distinguished businessman, philanthropist, and community leader, who died after a protracted illness in Bauchi .
On behalf of his family, the Government of Bauchi State, and the good people of the state, Governor Bala Mohammed extends heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, his friends, associates, and the entire business community in Bauchi, Jos, and beyond.
Governor Bala Mohammed describes the late Alhaji Amadu Laushi as an accomplished entrepreneur whose contributions to commerce and economic development earned him respect and admiration across the country. He noted that beyond his remarkable success in business, the deceased was widely known for his generosity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to supporting the less privileged and vulnerable members of society.
The Governor said that Alhaji Amadu Laushi's philanthropic activities touched countless lives, bringing hope and relief to many families and communities. His dedication to humanitarian causes and his passion for uplifting the needy will remain an enduring legacy for future generations.
“With the death of Alhaji Amadu Laushi, Bauchi State has lost one of its most respected business icons and a man whose life exemplified service to humanity. His selfless contributions to society and commitment to the welfare of others will never be forgotten," the Governor stated.
Governor Bala Mohammed prayed that the Almighty Allah (SWT) will forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, reward his good deeds abundantly, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus. He also prayed for strength, patience, and fortitude for his immediate family and loved ones to bear this great loss.
The Governor urged the people of Bauchi State to remember the late Alhaji Amadu Laushi in their prayers and to emulate the values of generosity, humility, and service to humanity which he upheld throughout his life.

BAUCHI FIRST LADY VISITS PILGRIMS IN MAKKAH, DONATES PRAYER MATS, BLANKETS; GOVERNOR GIVES SR300 EACH
The First Lady of Bauchi State, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, Sarauniyar Bauchi, has visited Bauchi State pilgrims in Makkah and donated prayer mats and blankets, while Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, Kauran Daular Usmaniya, gave SR300 each to all pilgrims.
During the visit, Dr. Aisha urged the pilgrims to intensify prayers and acts of worship in line with Saudi regulations.
She also called on them to pray for Nigeria, Bauchi State, and its leaders, and to avoid abusing them.
“Nigeria, Bauchi, and our leaders need your prayers. Don’t abuse them. Use the good attitude you have learned while living in Saudi Arabia,” she told the pilgrims.
The First Lady said the donation of prayer mats and blankets has been her personal tradition since Governor Bala Mohammed assumed office in 2019, while the SR300 cash gift to every Bauchi pilgrim has been consistently provided by the governor.
The Executive Secretary of the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Dr. Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, assured her that all Bauchi pilgrims have concluded their Hajj successfully without any distraction.
He confirmed that this year’s pilgrims demonstrated good conduct and strict obedience to rules.
He added that the 2026 Hajj operation was “100% successful” and thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for providing all necessary support. He also acknowledged the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, and Saudi authorities.
The Amirul Hajj 2026 and Emir of Misau, His Royal Highness Alh. Ahmad Suleiman, welcomed the First Lady to the pilgrims’ hotels. He thanked Governor Bala Mohammed for his commitment to supporting Bauchi pilgrims.
Alh. Ahmad urged the 2,090 pilgrims to appreciate the opportunity given to them to perform Hajj this year. He called on them to consider it a privilege and pray for the development of Bauchi State and for the successful delivery of the 2026 Hajj exercise.

SPEAKER SYMPHATIZES WITH THE BAUCHI EMIR OVER UNCLE'S DEMISE
The Bauchi State House of Assembly under the inclusive leadership of Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar Y. Suleiman (Ɗangaladiman Ningi), extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the Jumba community, and the good people of Bauchi State over the demise of an elder statesman and beloved father, Alh. Aminu Adamu Jumba (Bunun Bauchi). The late elder passed away at a time when his advice, guidance, and experience were most needed by both leaders and the governed.
The Speaker described the late Alh. Aminu Adamu Jumba as an indefatigable figure of wisdom, humility, and selfless service whose life was dedicated to the unity, peace, and development of Bauchi and its traditional institutions. He noted that his fatherly guidance, wise counsel and commitment to community progress will be greatly missed, adding that he lived a life worthy of emulation by all. The Speaker also sympathized with His Royal Highness, the Emir of Bauchi, Alh. Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu for the loss of an uncle who groomed and mentored him.
On behalf of the Honorable Members, Principal Officers and management staff of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Dr. Abubakar extends condolences to the bereaved family over the death of such personality. He added that the deceased’s teachings and moral upbringing will always be put into practice. Governor Mohammed received with profound sorrow the news of the death of Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Adamu Jumba, which occurred yesterday at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, after a protracted illness.
Late Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Adamu Jumba was a respected elder statesman, a prince of the Bauchi Emirate, and one of the few surviving sons of the late Emir of Bauchi, Malam Adamu Jumba. He was also an uncle to the current Emir of Bauchi, His Royal Highness Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.
Governor Mohammed described the deceased as a man of remarkable courage, and discipline, whose life was devoted to the service of his family, community, and Bauchi State . He noted that late Muhammad Aminu Adamu Jumba was widely admired for his doggedness, steadfastness, and unwavering commitment to the values of honesty, responsibility, and respect for traditional institution.
According to the Governor, the death of Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Adamu Jumba is a great loss not only to the Bauchi Emirate but also to Bauchi State as a whole, as the state has lost one of its revered elders whose wisdom, counsel, and exemplary conduct positively impacted many lives.
While praying Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, Governor Bala Mohammed urged members of the bereaved family and the entire Emirate to take solace in the worthy legacy of honour, discipline, and service that the deceased left behind.
The Governor further prayed that Allah will give the family, friends, and associates of late Alhaji Muhammad Aminu Adamu Jumba the fortitude to bear this great loss.

BAUCHI GOVT MOVES TO TACKLE FLOOD THREAT IN GAJIN DUGURI COMMUNITY.

The Bauchi State Government has intensified efforts to address recurring flood disasters in vulnerable communities as a high powered delegation of engineers from the Ministry of Works and Transport conducted an on the spot assessment of flood affected areas in Gajin Duguri Community, Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state.
The assessment team, led by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Hamisu Mohammed, visited the community following the directive of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, over growing concerns about the devastating effects of flooding on lives, farmlands, roads, drainage systems, and other public infrastructure within the area.
Speaking during the inspection tour, Engr. Hamisu Mohammed said the visit underscored the commitment of the present administration to finding lasting solutions to environmental and infrastructural challenges confronting communities across Bauchi State.
He explained that Governor Bala Mohammed had directed the Ministry to urgently evaluate the extent of damage caused by the flood disaster and develop both immediate and long term engineering solutions aimed at preventing future occurrences.
According to him, the inspection team thoroughly examined critical drainage channels, culverts, erosion prone areas, and damaged access roads within the community to enable the Ministry prepare a detailed technical report for prompt government intervention.
“The present administration remains committed to safeguarding lives and properties through sustainable infrastructure development and effective flood control measures across the state,” the Permanent Secretary stated.
He further noted that the Bala Mohammed administration has continued to prioritise road construction, drainage expansion, urban renewal, and erosion control projects as part of broader strategies to reduce the impact of seasonal flooding and improve public safety in vulnerable communities.
Engr. Hamisu Mohammed also appealed to residents to support government efforts by avoiding indiscriminate dumping of refuse on waterways and drainage channels, warning that such practices contribute significantly to blockage and worsening flood incidents during heavy rainfall.
Community leaders and residents who accompanied the delegation expressed appreciation to Governor Bala Mohammed for what they described as his swift response and concern over the plight of the people.
They commended the Ministry of Works and Transport for promptly responding to the situation and appealed for urgent implementation of flood control measures to avert further destruction of homes and infrastructure.
The inspection team comprised directors and engineers from the Ministry of Works and Transport alongside other relevant stakeholders tasked with evaluating the flood situation and recommending practical engineering solutions.

Eid-el-Kabir: Cleric Urges Muslims to Uphold Allah’s Commandments.
Muslims have been called upon to uphold the teachings and commandments of Almighty Allah in their daily activities and relationships with fellow citizens to promote peaceful coexistence and societal development.
The Deputy Imam of JIBWIS Kasuwar Shanu Juma’at Mosque in Bauchi, Malam Nafiu Usman Ibrahim, made the call shortly after leading hundreds of faithful in the two Raka’at Eid-el-Kabir prayers held at the mosque on Wednesday.
In his sermon, Malam Nafiu Usman Ibrahim described Eid-el-Kabir as a symbol of sacrifice, obedience and total devotion to Allah Almighty, urging Muslims to emulate the virtues of Prophet Ibrahim through patience, faithfulness and complete submission to the will of Allah.
He stressed the need for Muslims to sustain the lessons of the festival beyond the celebration period by promoting love, unity, tolerance, and mutual understanding among members of the society.
The Islamic scholar further urged citizens to respect constituted authorities and live peacefully with one another while appealing to leaders at all levels to promote transparency, justice, and accountability for sustainable national development.
Malam Nafiu Usman Ibrahim also encouraged the Muslim Ummah to continue offering prayers for unity, security, and economic prosperity in the country, especially at a time Nigerians are facing various social and economic challenges.
Speaking shortly after the prayers, the Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and called on the people to continue supporting one another irrespective of political, ethnic or religious differences.
The Senator said the essence of the festival should inspire Nigerians to strengthen the spirit of sacrifice, compassion, and national unity, stressing that peace and cooperation remain vital ingredients for the growth and sstability of the country.
Senator Shehu Buba Umar also reaffirmed his commitment towards supporting programmes and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of his constituents while assuring the people of Bauchi South of quality representation at the National Assembly.
Reports indicate that dignitaries who attended the Eid prayers included Islamic scholars, traditional title holders, community leaders, and other prominent personalities from different parts of Bauchi State.

Bauchi Governor, Deputy, Lawmakers Join Thousands for Eid El Kabir Prayer.
Thousands of Muslim faithful gathered at the Bauchi Eid Ground on Wednesday to observe this year’s Eid El Kabir prayer alongside counterparts across the globe.
Governor Bala Mohammed attended the prayer alongside his deputy, Mohammed Auwal Jatau, and Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman. Also present were other top government officials, traditional rulers, and political figures including APM gubernatorial candidate Yakubu Adamu, ADC’s Sen. Halliru Dauda Jika, APC’s Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, and the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman, with members of his council.
The two-rakaat prayer was led by Imam Bala Ahmed Kankusurwa, who in his khutbah urged the wealthy in society to assist the needy so they could also benefit from the celebration.
Speaking shortly after the prayer, Governor Bala Mohammed thanked the people of Bauchi State for their continued support to the administration. He noted that this year’s Eid El Kabir coincided with various political activities and urged politicians and residents to conduct themselves according to the rules of the game.
