The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, at the Bauchi Government Palace. They are the only two remaining PDP governors in Nigeria, where they discussed the unity and development of the country.
In his speech, Governor Makinde congratulated Bauchi on the completion of Ramadan and the celebration of the Small Prayer, emphasizing his support for Governor Bala in facing the challenges of leadership. He said that despite hardships, dedication and perseverance will lead to happiness in the end.
Governor Bala Mohammed described the visit as important, where he praised Governor Makinde for his patriotism, bravery, and support for the PDP and the development of the country. His Excellency , Sen. Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON , Fnipr , ( Kauran Daular Usmaniyya ) the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, , has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in Bauchi State, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
In a goodwill message marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan, the Governor expressed profound gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for granting the faithful the strength, patience, and spiritual devotion required to fulfill the sacred obligation of fasting.
Governor Mohammed described Eid-el-Fitr as more than a festive occasion, emphasizing its significance as a period of reflection, renewal, and recommitment to the core values of Islam.
He urged citizens to uphold and sustain the virtues cultivated during Ramadan, including compassion, humility, generosity, discipline, and kindness toward all.

The majority leader of the House, Lawal Hussaini Dala, confirmed the move to introduce a motion to impeach the deputy governor.
He stated that the motion to impeach Gwarzon was presented due to four allegations related to illegal use of funds.

The Senate of Nigeria, through the control of government accounts, called on the former Chairman of the National Petroleum Corporation, NNPCL, Mele Kyari, to appear before it about the alleged disappearance of two hundred and ten trillion naira (₦210 trillion) that did not explain how it was used from 2017 to 2023.
Kyari received the call with the former chief financial officer, Umar Ajia Isa, and the former general manager of the oil investment management department, Bala Wunti.
The President, Senator Aliyu Wadada, gave this call after the photos of the financial display showing the oil of the country.
Senator Wadada stated that, if the officers do not attend the meeting on the day to be announced, they can be arrested.
The committee indicated that they should appear with the current message of the NNPCL under Bayo Ojulari, and the external auditors who worked at the time in question.
The committee said that one hundred and three trillion naira and one hundred and seven trillion naira were found in the financial statement showing that it was not clear how they were used, where the dispatcher said that the number of one hundred and three trillion naira was shown by the partners since working in 2017, but he did not agree with this statement.
One Hundred and Seven Trillion Naira is also written in the list of "sundry receivables" which shows that other things are owed to him.
Also, the members of parliament are concerned about how five naira was spent in changing the name from Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited. The committee said this is not acceptable, and a full explanation must be provided.
At one stage, the series ordered the NNPCL to return the information spent on fuel production to the government account, and appointed the Office of the National Inspector General to monitor and monitor special funds according to the law, to ensure the truth.

Joining us were my wife, Her Excellency Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, members of the State Executive Council, senior government officials, and other distinguished guests.
I commended the organisation for its remarkable contributions to healthcare delivery and humanitarian services in Bauchi State and beyond. I also expressed my deep appreciation for their ongoing interventions and reaffirmed my administration’s commitment to strengthening our collaboration in advancing public health and improving the wellbeing of our people.
On behalf of the delegation, the team lead, Mrs. Helen, thanked me for the warm reception and for the honour of the Iftar invitation, describing it as a truly memorable gesture. She also expressed gratitude for the recognition of the impact of their humanitarian mission in Bauchi State.

They briefed me on their ongoing projects, shared details of interventions they have already completed, and outlined plans to expand assistance in areas where help is urgently needed. I commended the organisation for its compassion and dedication, and I emphasised the vital role international development partners play in strengthening healthcare delivery and advancing social initiatives in our state. I also assured them that my administration will continue to support credible organisations committed to improving the lives of our people. In response, Mrs. Helen, the team leader of the delegation, thanked me for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to sustained medical outreach and humanitarian work for underserved communities in Bauchi State.

Governor Bala Visited Duguri, Requested Emergency Response From The Federal Government
The Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has called on the Federal Government to take pictures after an attack by bandits in some parts of Duguri.
The governor disclosed this during a march to the area, where some were killed and others injured after suspected bandits attacked.
He said that the security barrier is a challenge, so the need for more equipment to be able to prevent such attacks properly.
Governor Bala added that he informed the President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of the current situation during a mission that took him to Abuja.
According to him, the President sent a message of condolence to the late victims and told them that the Federal Government will give full support to him as the Commander-in-Chief of the Nigerian Army.
The governor praised the bravery of the people of Kafin Duguri, saying that it was their resistance that forced the attackers to escape from the area.
He described the nation as one of the most resilient people in the country, where agriculture is the main source of food and self-sufficiency.
The governor said that success has been achieved in the prevention of bandits in some parts of the state, but he indicated that the government will not give up until full peace is restored in Duguri and its work.
He also announced the plan to recruit more volunteers and train them to cooperate with the police, assuring that the Bauchi State Government has taken responsibility for the treatment of all the injured.
Governor Bala Mohammed prayed to God to heal those who died, and signaled the community to continue to work together and cooperate with the security forces to ensure security in the area.
Earlier, the Emir of Duguri, Alhaji Adamu Muhammad, thanked the governor for showing up, describing the attack as a big setback for the people of the region.

Yesterday the wife of the Governor of Bauchi received her neighbors for the opening ceremony
The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, welcomed her neighbors to her home in Bauchi during the holy month of Ramadan.
After the opening ceremony, the Holy Quran was recited, and Ms. Aisha gave a short advice on the importance of good neighborliness, friendship, unity and peace among the community. She emphasized that the peace and development of the community starts from a good relationship between neighbors.
Her neighbors expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude for the care, generosity and humility she always showed. They also prayed to God to continue to give her health, protection and success in her work to serve the community.
On her part, the Governor's wife thanked her neighbors for accepting the invitation, praying for peace, unity and blessings.
