BAUCHI STATE POLICE COMMAND
PRESS RELEASE
COMMAND RECORDS BREAKTHROUGH IN THREE CASES OF CHILD DEFILEMENT, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS
The Bauchi State Police Command has made significant progress in its sustained campaign against Sexual and Gender-Based Violence, with the arrest of suspects linked to three separate and deeply disturbing cases of defilement of minors across the State.
These cases, involving innocent girls aged 9, 10 and 11, are a painful reminder of the vulnerability of our children and the urgent need for collective vigilance.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc(+), has expressed deep concern over the incidents and reiterated the Command's firm resolve to ensure that every child in Bauchi State is protected and that perpetrators face the full weight of the law.
The first case was reported on 12th October, 2026, at Tilden Fulani Division, Toro LGA, by a mother who discovered that her 11-year-old daughter had been allegedly lured by a 47 years old man, one Auwal Ibrahim of Unguwar Sarkin Hausawa, with N500 into a narrow passage where he allegedly had carnal knowledge of her. The little girl was immediately rushed to General Hospital, Toro, for medical attention. While the suspect initially denied the allegation, detectives visited the scene and intensive efforts are ongoing to ensure justice is served.
In the second incident, a distressed mother from Gwallameji, Bauchi, reported at E-Division on 13th October, 2026, that her 9-year-old daughter had been repeatedly lured into the room of one Sabitu Muhammed, 35 years old, who allegedly had carnal knowledge of her on several occasions. The suspect has been arrested, the victim has been taken to the Police Clinic, Bauchi, medically examined and supported. The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for discreet investigation.
Similarly, on 13th October, 2026, a 40 years old mother from Wuntin Dada reported at B-Division, GRA Bauchi, that her 10-year-old daughter, who was sent to buy sugar on the evening of the same day, was intercepted on her way home by one Anas Adam, 22 years old, of the same neighborhood, who allegedly took her to his house and defiled her. Police detectives promptly visited the scene, the child was taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination, and the suspect was immediately arrested.
The Commissioner of Police condemns these acts in the strongest terms, describing them as inhumane, barbaric and an assault on our shared humanity. He assures the victims and their families that the Command will pursue diligent investigation and prosecution to ensure justice is not only done but seen to be done.
He further appeals to parents, guardians and community leaders to remain vigilant, to closely monitor their children and wards, and to promptly report any suspicious behaviour or abuse to the nearest Police Station. The protection of our children is a collective responsibility.
