NBS 2025 REPORT SHOWS KEBBI STATE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICES AMONG TOP 4 STATES IN LGA REVENUE

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) 2025 Report, only 21 of Nigeria’s 36 states reported revenue generated from Local Government Areas (LGAs), with a combined total of ₦65.82 billion.

Kebbi State ranked among the top four nationwide, recording ₦4.94 billion in LGA-generated revenue:

• Lagos — ₦16.30 billion
• Jigawa — ₦10.04 billion
• Gombe — ₦8.92 billion
• Kebbi — ₦4.94 billion

Meanwhile, 15 states reported zero revenue from LGAs.

The ₦4.94 billion recorded by Kebbi highlights the scale of revenue mobilisation at the grassroots level and reflects the state's efforts to strengthen internally generated revenue across Local Government Areas under the leadership of Dr. Aminu Abdullahi, Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Internal Revenue Service (KBIRS).

Kebbi’s performance demonstrates the growing importance of effective grassroots revenue mobilisation to sustainable state development.
