BONNY LG CHAIRMAN EXTENDS GOVERNMENT SUPPORT TO THE FAMILY OF LATE MISS QUEENETH PEPPLE

…Awards ₦3 Million Scholarship to Her Siblings, Approves The Construction of Two-Bedroom Bungalow and Government-Funded Autopsy

The Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS, JP, has extended the support and intervention of the Bonny Local Government Council to the family of late Miss Queeneth Pepple, who tragically lost her life in the early hours of Friday, September 11, 2026, at Water Well Community.

Chairman Pepple announced a ₦3 million scholarship for the deceased's siblings, as part of the government’s immediate intervention to support the family and ensure that the tragedy does not further undermine the educational future of her siblings.

The Council Chairman made the announcement on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, during a condolence visit to the bereaved family, where he expressed deep sympathy over the painful loss and assured the family that the Local Government would stand with them during this difficult period.

“This is a very painful moment for the family, and no words can truly take away the pain of losing a loved one in such circumstances. But as a responsible government, we cannot stand by and watch this family go through this difficult period alone,” the Chairman said.

He assured the family that the Local Government would continue to support efforts to ensure justice is served.

“As a government that is responsible, anything that we can do to ensure that your family gets justice, we will not relent. As a government, we are with you.”

In a further demonstration of the Council’s commitment to the welfare of the bereaved family, Chairman Pepple also approved the construction of a two-bedroom bungalow for the family, with a directive that the building be completed within four months.

The Council Chairman explained that the intervention was not only a response to the immediate needs of the family but also a way of ensuring that government provides tangible support to a family confronting an unimaginable loss.

He said the Local Government would continue to work with the relevant authorities and security agencies as investigations into the circumstances surrounding Queeneth Pepple’s death continue.

The Chairman also responded to an appeal by the deceased’s mother, Mrs. Greatness Pepple, for an autopsy to be conducted on her daughter.

Chairman Pepple approved that the Bonny Local Government Council would bear the cost of the autopsy, noting that the request was important to the family and relevant to establishing the facts surrounding the death.

Mrs. Greatness Pepple expressed appreciation to the Chairman for personally visiting the family and for the support extended by the Local Government at a time of profound grief.
