NASSI Yobe Pays Courtesy and Partnership Visit to NAFDAC State Coordinator in Damaturu

The Nigeria Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI), Yobe State Chapter, under the leadership of Hon. Hamza Isah Adamu, paid a courtesy, introductory and partnership visit to the State Coordinator of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Yobe State Office, Damaturu.

During the visit, the State Chairman, Hon. Hamza Isah Adamu, stated that the purpose of the visit was to strengthen collaboration between NASSI and NAFDAC, particularly in the areas of product standards, safety, and regulatory compliance among small scale industrialists in Yobe State.

He noted that many MSMEs operate in sectors such as food processing, packaged water production, cosmetics, agro-products and other consumables, making NAFDAC a critical partner in ensuring that members meet required standards. He emphasized NASSI’s commitment to sensitizing its members on proper registration, quality control, packaging, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.

The Chairman politely highlighted that the new NASSI leadership has observed that one of the major challenges facing small scale industrialists in Yobe State is difficulty with registration with regulatory bodies, as well as inadequate packaging standards, which often hinder them from marketing and selling their products competitively. He therefore sought NAFDAC’s support in guiding members through simplified processes, awareness programmes, and technical advice that would help them meet regulatory requirements.

He added that such collaboration would not only protect consumers but also help local producers improve product quality, gain market trust, and expand beyond local markets.

In response, the NAFDAC State Coordinator appreciated the visit and described it as timely and strategic. The Coordinator assured NASSI of the agency’s willingness to work closely with the association through awareness programs, guidance on product registration procedures, and continuous engagement to promote safe and standard products in the state.

The visit marks the beginning of a productive partnership between NASSI Yobe and NAFDAC toward enhancing product quality, consumer safety, and the overall growth of small scale industries in Yobe State.

Muhammad Baba Kuchichi, Executive Director of the Network of Civil Society Organizations, lauded the new leadership and urged them to provide purposeful and visionary leadership for small-scale industrialists, emphasizing that “industries are the pillars of Nigeria’s economy; by supporting these industries, the new leadership is directly strengthening the economic foundations of the state and the nation.”

Similarly, Rebecca Anzaku, representing NASSI’s national body, commended the Yobe State Chapter for organizing the elections with professionalism and meticulous planning. She encouraged the new executive team to foster unity among members, expand programs that empower entrepreneurs, and develop initiatives that will ensure the association continues to grow in both influence and impact.

In his inaugural address, Chairman Hamza Isa Adamu struck a tone of humility, gratitude, and unflinching resolve. “Leadership is not about position, but about service,” he declared. He pledged that his administration would prioritize transparent governance, regular capacity-building programs, improved access to finance, promotion of local products, and stronger market linkages, all designed to create opportunities, generate jobs, and strengthen small-scale industries in Yobe State. With the guidance of the new executive team, many anticipate a surge in initiatives aimed at empowering entrepreneurs, especially women and youth, fostering innovation, and attracting investment into small-scale industries.

The inauguration, which also featured government officials such as Hon. Muhammad Bazam, Special Adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni on Grassroots Mobilization, Hon. The association’s focus on entrepreneurship, job creation, and economic empowerment, coupled with its new leadership’s commitment to excellence, is expected to catalyze a transformation that will not only benefit its members but also contribute significantly to the state’s development agenda.

As members, dignitaries, and well-wishers applauded the newly inaugurated executives, there was a shared sense of optimism and anticipation. With Hamza Isa Adamu and his team at the helm, NASSI Yobe State is on course to become a formidable force for industrial growth, economic empowerment, and job creation, setting a benchmark for excellence for small-scale industrial associations across Nigeria.
