THE DAY BRITAIN BOMBED LAGOS TO END SLAVERY – WHAT THEY NEVER TOLD YOU!

In 1851, the British Navy launched a fierce attack on the port city of Lagos, in present-day Nigeria. Their mission? End the Atlantic slave trade that was still thriving under King Kosoko’s rule.

For days, cannon fire rocked the city as British warships battled defenders on shore. Eventually, Kosoko fled, and the British installed a new ruler—Oba Akitoye—who had promised to abolish the slave trade.

This wasn't just charity. Britain had banned slavery and was enforcing its policy across West Africa—by force if necessary. The bombardment of Lagos was loud, deadly... and the beginning of the end for the slave trade there.

EFUNROYE TINUBU (Ẹfúnpọ̀róyè Ọ̀ṣuntinúbú) WAS A POWERFUL YORÙBÁ FEMALE ARISTOCRAT AND MERCHANT.

She was a politically and economically influential figure in Lagos during the reigns of Obas (monarchs) Adele, Dosunmu, Oluwole, and Akitoye, helping the latter two Obas gain political power. She married Oba Adele and used his connections to establish a successful trade network with European merchants in slaves, to***co, salt, cotton, palm oil, coconut oil, and fi****ms. She allegedly owned over 360 personal slaves.

Following British victory in the Reduction of Lagos, the British removed Oba Kosoko from his throne and replaced him with Akitoye, who was backed by Tinubu. The British had Akitoye sign the 1852 treaty Between Great Britain and Lagos, which required Lagosians to abolish the Atlantic slave trade. However, tinubu covertly persisted in operating the slave trade with brazilian and european merchants, in violation of the treaty, and Akitoye willingly permitted this.

British consul Benjamin Campbell denounced tinubu's economic hegemony over Lagos and her secret slave-trading, and she came into conflict with the British and rival lagos merchants.
Following the ascendancy of Oba Dosunnu, Dosunmu exiled Tinubu to Abeokuta under Campbell's pressure after Tinubu plotted unsuccessful conspiracies to remove British influence from Lagos and assassinate Campbell. While in Abeokuta, she helped supply the city with munitions during its victorious war against the Kingdom of Dahomey, thus earning her the chieftaincy title of the Iyalode of the Egbas.

She died in Abeokuta in 1887. The landmark Tinubu Square in Lagos, Nigeria, was named after her and also has a statue of her.
She also has a statue in Abeokuta, Nigeria.

Bashorun Gaa was one of the most influential figures in the history of the Old Oyo Empire (14th–19th centuries). He held the position of Bashorun, the military commander and head of the Oyo army, and became the de facto ruler of the empire, effectively overshadowing the Alaafin (king) in power and influence.

His rise to prominence occurred during the reign of Alaafin Ologun Kutere in the 18th century. Gaa's position granted him control over military affairs and the power to appoint and remove kings, a unique power that greatly exceeded the authority of the Alaafin. This imbalance of power led to internal strife and conflicts between the Alaafin and Gaa, as the military commander manipulated royal succession to suit his ambitions.
Bashorun Gaa’s power ultimately led to the downfall of the Oyo Empire. He was murdered by his own forces under the orders of Alaafin Aole, who sought to eliminate Gaa's overbearing influence. The assassination marked the beginning of a decline in the power structure of the Old Oyo empire
Legacy:
Bashorun Gaa's life symbolizes the complexities of political intrigue, military power, and the fragility of royal authority in the Yoruba kingdoms.

No Yoruba Nation, No Peace for the Yorubas in Nigeria.

A o ri ogbon kankan dasi. That is the only solution to all these rubbish and nonsense.

Because our time in Nigeria as Yorubas has expired long time ago.

That is why we're witnessing all these Madness, and it will never get any better soon.

The kind of attack that is still coming on the Yorubas in this useless contraption called country, it would be more brutal than what we're witnessing presently.

A o ti ri nkankan o...

Afi ti a ba kuro ninu Oriburuku country called Nigeria.

Scientific and Spiritual definition of ORIBURUKU is when a Yoruba Man believes that Nigeria will still be great and Yoruba has a future in this useless contraption called Nigeria.
