GOSIDEC DRIVES DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN GOMBE, EMPOWERS INFORMATION MINISTRY STAFF WITH CAPACITY-BUILDING TRAINING
..reinforces Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s digital governance agenda, strengthens institutional capacity and advances technology-driven public service delivery in Gombe State.

THEME: “Building Digital Competence for Effective Governance: Strengthening Information Management, Innovation and Public Service Delivery in Gombe State.”

In a strategic push to deepen digital transformation and strengthen the operational capacity of the public service, the Gombe State Information and Digital Economy Commission (GOSIDEC) has organised a one-day capacity-building training course for staff of the Ministry of Information, Strategy and Culture.

The training, conducted under the delegation of the Director of E-Governance, Dr. Ahmed Magem, was part of state government's commitment to equipping public servants with the requisite digital skills, institutional knowledge and technological competencies needed to deliver efficient, responsive and citizen-centred services in an increasingly digital world.

Welcoming the GOSIDEC delegation on behalf of the Commissioner, Hon. Moses Kyari Bolda, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Galadima, received the team and acknowledged the significance of the capacity-building initiative in strengthening the ministry's professional effectiveness and operational capabilities.

The engagement reflects a growing recognition that modern public administration requires more than conventional information management. It demands a workforce capable of leveraging digital tools, embracing innovation, improving information flow and communicating government policies and programmes with greater speed, accuracy and impact.

By extending the training to personnel of the Ministry of Information, Strategy and Culture, GOSIDEC is helping to reinforce the connection between digital technology, strategic communication and effective governance. The initiative also highlights the importance of continuous professional development in enabling government institutions to adapt to emerging technologies and evolving public expectations.

The programme aligns with the development vision of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, Dan Majen Gombe, whose administration has prioritised institutional reform, digital advancement and improved public service delivery as key components of its broader development agenda.

The governor's vision recognises that a digitally capable public service is essential for building efficient institutions, promoting transparency, improving access to government information and ensuring that the benefits of technological advancement reach citizens across the state.

Through initiatives of this nature, GOSIDEC continues to play a strategic role in promoting digital literacy and supporting the integration of technology into government operations. Capacity-building programmes also provide an avenue for public servants to strengthen their professional skills and contribute more effectively to the implementation of government policies.

The one-day training therefore represents more than a professional development exercise; it is a practical investment in human capital, institutional efficiency and the future of digital governance in Gombe State.

As governments increasingly embrace technology to improve service delivery and public engagement, the collaboration between GOSIDEC and the Ministry of Information, Strategy and Culture reinforces the imperative of building a knowledgeable, digitally competent and forward-looking workforce capable of advancing Gombe State's development aspirations.
