OYSG MANDATES DIGITALIZED JACKETS FOR REGISTERED MOTORCYCLE AND TRICYCLE OPERATORS.

It is now mandatory for all registered commercial motorcycle and tricycle operators in Oyo State to wear reflective jackets, as the state has initiated the digital registration for all the operators to improve safety, accountability, and efficiency in the transportation sector across the state.

This was made known by the Commissioner for Public Works and Transport, Architect Abdulmojeed Mogbojubola, during a press briefing in collaboration with the Oyo State Road and Traffic Maintenance Agency (OYTRMA), in the conference room of the ministry.

According to the commissioner, an enforcement exercise will commence soon, and any operator without proper registration or a jacket will be sanctioned.

"We are committed to a phased implementation approach starting from Ibadan, the state's capital, and then to other zones of the state. However, any rider found operating without proper registration or uniform will be subjected to regulatory sanctions in line with the state's transport laws."

In attendance at the press briefing were the Executive Chairman, OYRTMA, Major Adekoya Adesagba, and other stakeholders in the state's transportation sector.

As we commemorate Nigeria's 64th Independence Day, I reflect on the remarkable journey our nation has taken since 1960. This day is a reminder of our resilience, unity, and the incredible potential that lies within each Nigerian.

Over the years, we have faced challenges, yet we have continued to rise above them, driven by the spirit of patriotism and the desire for progress. We understand that quality roads, bridges, and public works are essential for fostering economic growth and improving the lives of our citizens. Together, let us work towards creating a Nigeria that we can all be proud of.
