PRESIDENT’S SPEECH
By Aare Raji Maruf Arisekola, Alumni President (2024/2025)
Distinguished guests, respected members of the management team, esteemed alumni, and dear students,
It is a great honour to stand before you today as we mark one year of impactful service by the Alumni Executive. This milestone provides us an opportunity to reflect on our journey—our progress, our challenges, and the bold steps we continue to take toward building a stronger MULCOED community.
Building Bridges
From the onset, our administration set out with a clear mandate:
to strengthen the relationship between alumni, management, and students.
Through consistent meetings, collaborative projects, and open communication channels, we have created a more inclusive and harmonious environment that promotes understanding and shared purpose. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation and growth.
Challenges and Opportunities
Despite our progress, one key challenge persists—
the low participation of many successful alumni.
While we have made deliberate efforts to involve them, the response has not matched the potential that exists within our alumni body. This gap has slowed the pace of certain initiatives, but it has not in any way weakened our resolve.
We remain firmly committed to reactivating alumni engagement and unlocking the enormous opportunities it carries for our students and institution.
Our Commitment to Students
This administration successfully conducted comprehensive student orientations, during which we reaffirmed our dedication to restoring both local and national student union structures on campus.
Under the leadership of President Raji Maruf Arisekola, we strengthened alliances with major student bodies and stakeholders, including:
FIBSU National President – Aare Kamorudeen Giwa
FOSSU National Secretary – Mr. Ahmed
And several other partner associations
These partnerships are intentional steps aimed at enhancing the future prospects of our students and ensuring they are heard, supported, and empowered.
