Yesterday, residents of the Ibadan Circular Road including those on Segment 2 visited to get clarity on Segment 1's compensation and to understand when Segment 2's verification would begin.

Their questions were direct: When will Segment 1 be paid? What happens to Segment 2's verification in the meantime? What is their fate in this process?

Highlights from the engagement with Ilutuntun community; Residents didn't just hear promises repeated. They saw the documented commitments from the previous meeting had with them now being moved into action.

This matters because it closes the gap between what the government says and what the government does.

It's the difference between "we'll work with you" and actually showing the work plan with the community's input embedded in it.

Governor Seyi Makinde visited the road on Friday and Sunday. He stood with residents. He listened. He promised: "Your compensation will be paid."

Yesterday, the Executive Adviser to the Governor, Mrs. Mofoluke Adebiyi, reinforced that exact promise.

Yesterday's inspection with our multi-agency taskforce showed progress: fewer violations, better compliance, communities respecting the road.

But violations will be met with action. One truck impounded. Herdsmen's unauthorized structures are demolished.

Compliance is improving. But violations have consequences.
