LGSC SAYS NO TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

The Lagos State Local Government Service Commission joined the campaign against domestic violence, reaffirming its commitment to promoting love, respect, dignity and safety in homes and communities.

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Olubukonla Durodola, was represented at the awareness campaign by the Director, Administration & Human Resources, Mrs. Omobola Ajayi.

Speaking on behalf of the Commission, Mrs. Ajayi emphasised the need to break the silence surrounding domestic violence and encouraged victims and survivors to speak out and seek appropriate support.

The Local Government Service Commission calls on everyone to reject all forms of domestic violence, work together towards building peaceful, safe and violence-free homes and communities.

Lagos State Local Government Service Commission concludes Year 2026 Conversion Exercise.

The Lagos State Local Government Service Commission has successfully conducted its 2026 Annual Conversion Exercise for eligible staff of the Unified Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.

The exercise, which was designed to assess eligible staff seeking conversion in the Local Government Service, commenced with tutorials, Computer-Based Examination at the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre, Magodo, (PSSDC) and Interview on Wednesday, 19 August 2026, at the Commission.

The Permanent Secretary reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that staff career progression and conversion processes are conducted in accordance with established rules, regulations and due process.

She noted that the exercise was part of the Commission’s broader responsibility to promote professionalism, competence and effective human resource management within the Unified Local Government Service.

Mrs. Durodola encouraged staff to remain committed to continuous learning, professional development and excellence in service delivery, stressing that a competent and motivated workforce remains essential to effective administration at the grassroots.

LGSC organizes tutorial for Unified Local Government staff for year 2026 conversion examinations.

The Local Government Service Commission today organized tutorial for officer of the Unified Local Government Service staff who are due for year 2026 conversion examination.

The Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Mrs Bukonla Durodola while declaring the session open spoke on the need for them to concentrate during the examination and make sure the answers are well submitted to avoid stories that touch the heart.

In her own submission during her session Director, Admin and Human Resource Mrs Omobola Ajayi emphases on the importance of knowing the basic content of the Public service Rules and adhere strictly to them.

Other sessions include Financial Regulations was handled by Mr Obani Saidi, Procurement Policy by Director, Procurement Mr Taofeek Ambali and General knowledge by Mr Kehinde Adewale Yusuf a retired Pubkic Servant.

LAGOS STATE PUBLIC SERVICE CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP, LGAs AND LCDAs CHAPTER PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO THE PERMANENT SECRETARY, LGSC
The Lagos State Public Service Christian Fellowship (LSPSCF), Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas (LGAs and LCDAs) Chapter, on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Bukonla Durodola, to congratulate her on her appointment and reaffirm the Fellowship’s commitment to supporting the Commission through prayers and dedicated service.
The delegation was led by the General Coordinator of the Fellowship, Pastor Fagbolade, who formally reintroduced the LSPSCF LGAs and LCDAs Chapter to the Commission and expressed the Fellowship’s goodwill towards the new Permanent Secretary. He assured her of the Fellowship’s continuous prayers and unwavering support as she steers the affairs of the Commission.
The visit was to further strengthened the cordial relationship between the Lagos State Local Government Service Commission and the Lagos State Public Service Christian Fellowship, LGAs and LCDAs Chapter, while reaffirming the Fellowship’s dedication to promoting godly values, unity and excellence in the Lagos State Public Service.
In her response, Mrs. Durodola expressed heartfelt appreciation to the delegation for the thoughtful visit and congratulatory gesture. She commended the Fellowship for its commitment to spiritual growth within the public service and encouraged members to remain steadfast in their service to God and humanity. The Permanent Secretary also thanked the Fellowship for its prayers and pledged her support for initiatives that promote integrity, unity and excellence in the public service.
Also present at the meeting were some Directors of the LGSC: Mrs. Omobola Ajayi, Dir, A&HR, Mr. Ayodele Coker, Dir, CMD, Mrs. Susan Emuze, Dir, D&E, Mr. Gbadegeshin, Dir, Secretariat; Mrs. Okojie, Dir, Planning and Mrs. T. R. Oluchukwu, Head of ICT.

The Office of Local Government Establishment and Training (OLGE&T) hosted the Year 2026 Pre-Retirement Sensitization Programme: Themed: Retirement Ready: Ensuring a Seamless Transition from Service to Pension.

The programme brought together retiring officers of the Unified Local Government Service for engaging sessions on retirement documentation, pension, record management and financial preparedness. Participants also benefited from experts presentations, interactive panel discussions, and one-on-one documentation support to ensure a smooth transition into retirement.

The Lagos State Government remains committed to empowering its officers with the knowledge and resources needed to embrace retirement with confidence and peace of mind.

The Body of Heads Agric. and Social Services in the Unified Local Government in Lagos State, led by the Chairman, Adekunle Soliu paid a courtesy visit to the Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Bukonla Durodola, on Wednesday, 16th July 2026.

The visit was to welcome the Permanent Secretary and discuss the challenges faced in the department.
