For everyone who has ever asked:

”How do I study abroad?” ”How do I get scholarships?” ”What opportunities actually exist?”

This session was for you.

Charlotte Meyn Charlotte Sophie Meyn shared practical insights on international opportunities, academic mobility, and how students can begin preparing now—not after graduation.

”Don’t box yourself in.”

That was one of the biggest takeaways from Professor Babajide Afolabi’s keynote.

Technology. Research. Leadership. Innovation.

His session reminded students that language and technology are not opposite worlds.

Sometimes the most exciting opportunities exist where disciplines meet.

They refused to let a language disappear.

Long before IMC 6.0, a team of students was travelling, researching, documenting, and preserving a language at risk of extinction.

The Uro Project reminded everyone in attendance that language preservation is not theory. It is work. It is responsibility.

And sometimes, it is urgent.

Thank you to Akinloluwa Ajayi and the entire Uro Project team.

*479 People. One Question. What can language become?*

The biggest misconception about language is that it ends in the classroom.

IMC 6.0 challenged that idea.

Through technology. Through healthcare. Through education. Through research. Through innovation. Through industry.

The future of language is larger than many of us imagine.

That was the conversation.

And judging by the attendance, it was one that people were ready to have.

Three Weeks Later.
We’re still talking about it.

Three weeks ago, students filled the Moot Court because they wanted answers.

How do languages fit into AI?
Can language students work in tech? What opportunities exist beyond graduation? How do language skills create value in medicine, business, diplomacy, and innovation?

For one afternoon, those conversations happened in one room.

IMC 6.0 was never just another departmental event.

It was proof that language belongs everywhere.
