Celebrating the International Day of the Boy Child, May 16th

Today, we celebrate the strength, potential, and wellbeing of every boy child. Beyond the expectation to appear “strong,” many boys silently face emotional struggles, trauma, and mental health challenges that often go unnoticed.

Raising boys is not only about preparing them to provide, but also about nurturing empathy, confidence, character, and emotional wellbeing. The values we instill in them today will shape the fathers, leaders, and citizens of tomorrow.

The Ministry of Youth Development, remains committed to creating safe spaces and opportunities that promote the all-round growth and wellbeing of every young person in Kaduna State.

Happy International Day of the Boy Child!

Earlier today, the Ministry of Youth Development joined the “Flow with Confidence” Programme, an initiative of the Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

With the theme “Promoting Menstrual Health & Empowering the School Girls,” the programme highlights the importance of menstrual hygiene awareness, access to support, and creating safe spaces where girls can thrive confidently without stigma or limitation.

We commend Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and Her Excellency, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani, First Lady of Kaduna State, for championing this impactful initiative focused on the health, education, and future of young girls.

The Ministry remains committed to supporting programmes that promote inclusion, confidence, education, and equal opportunities for every girl child.

The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Kaduna State, represented His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, CON, at the Closing Ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II NYSC Orientation Course held at the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, Government College, Kaduna on Tuesday, 12th May 2026.

Delivering the Governor’s address, the Honourable Commissioner commended the corps members for their discipline, resilience, and commitment throughout the orientation exercise. He encouraged them to embrace their service year as an opportunity to positively impact their host communities and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The corps members were also urged to take advantage of the Community Development Service (CDS) and the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programmes to build practical skills, initiate impactful projects, and prepare for future opportunities.
The ceremony officially marked the close of the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course in Kaduna State.
