Ministry of Local Government Affairs Visits Kamazo Kujama Over Land Dispute

A team from the Kaduna State Ministry of Local Government Affairs paid an official visit to Kamazo Kujama District in Chikun Local Government Area following a land dispute involving Mr. Dayo Olalaye and the Village Head of Kamazo, Ayellajeyi Y. Jagaba.

The visit was part of the Ministry’s efforts to ensure peaceful resolution of disputes and promote harmony within communities across the state. The delegation was led by the Director of Boundary and Chieftaincy Matters and was accompanied by the Director of Inspectorate, Mohammed Amin Yahaya, Assistant Director of Boundary Matters, Saddo Ibrahim, Abdul Wahid Aliyu, and the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, Abdullahi Yahaya.

During the visit, the team engaged relevant stakeholders and assessed issues surrounding the disputed land with the aim of fostering mutual understanding and ensuring due process in resolving the matter.

The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace, strengthening traditional institutions, and promoting effective conflict resolution mechanisms at the grassroots level across Kaduna State.

Pastors United for Change Association Honours Kaduna Commissioner with Award of Excellence

The Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Sadiq Mamman Lagos, received in audience members of the Pastors United for Change Association of Nigeria, led by the National Chairman, Apostle David O. Adenisan.

The purpose of the visit was to present an Award of Excellence and a Letter of Commendation to the Honourable Commissioner in recognition of his dedication, leadership, and support to the administration of the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani.

Speaking during the presentation, Apostle David O. Adeniran stated that the award and commendation letter were presented as a mark of appreciation for the Commissioner’s outstanding contributions and his continuous support towards the successful running of the state government while carrying all citizens along in governance.

In his remarks, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the honour bestowed on him by the association. He assured the group of his continued support and commitment to working together with the association beyond 2027 for the progress and development of the state.

The meeting took place at the Sen. Uba Sani Conference Hall, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Kaduna.

Plenary Session of Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) Meeting – March, 2026

The Chairman of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) and Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, chaired the Plenary Session of the Joint Account Allocation Committee Meeting for the month of April, 2026. The plenary session was held following the Technical Session earlier chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, as part of the Committee’s regular monthly proceedings after the disbursement of Federal Allocation.
Those in attendance included the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mahmud Lawal, Special Adviser on Local Government,Hon. Kabir Yakubu Jarimi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government, Hon. Usman Lado Dan Daura, also present were all the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen, the Deputy Director of Finance and Budget, all Directors of the Ministry, and representatives from SUBEB, RUWASSA, the Office of the Accountant General, PHCB, the Bureau for Pension, and the Local Government Service Board.
The meeting took place at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State.

Technical Session of Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) Meeting – April, 2026.

The Honourable Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Maman Lagos, chaired the Technical Session of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) meeting for the month of April, 2026. The meeting is part of the Ministry’s regular monthly engagements held after the disbursement of the Federal Allocation to the State and the 23 Local Government Councils.
Among those in attendance were the Honourable Commissioner Ministry of Justice, James A. Kanyip PhD, Senior Special Assistant on Local Government, Hon. Usman Lado Dan Daura, Technical Assistant to the Governor, Hajiya Zara Askira, as well as all the 23 Local Government Council Chairmen.

Also present were the Deputy Director of Finance and Budget, all Directors of the Ministry, and representatives from SUBEB, RUWASSA, the Office of the Accountant General, PHCB, the Bureau for Pension, and the Local Government Service Board.

The meeting took place at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State.

*Permanent Secretary Receives Farm Matrix Agro Delegation*

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mahmud Lawal, today received in audience a delegation from Farm Matrix Agro, led by Mr. Samson Ayande, Business Developer.
The delegation included Mrs. Salamatu Mutasha, Field Coordinator; Mr. Hope Akuso, Communications Officer; and Ms. Maimuna Sufiyanu.
The visit was aimed at discussing the core responsibilities and operations of Farm Matrix Agro, as well as creating awareness about its ongoing field project in Ikara and Soba Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
During the meeting, both parties explored areas of collaboration to enhance agricultural development and community engagement at the grassroots level.

Commissioner for Local Government Affairs Receives Zazzau District Heads Forum
The Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman, on 30 April 2026 received in audience a delegation from the Zazzau District Heads Forum, led by Dr. Bello Lawal, Durumin Zazzau and District Head of Gubuchi.
The visit was aimed at expressing appreciation to the Kaduna State Government for the timely payment of salaries to traditional institution officials, as well as to formally present requests for salary increments, provision of utility vehicles, and improved remuneration for Village Heads.
The delegation comprised:

In his response, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos commended the delegation for their continued support and collaboration with government at the grassroots level. He assured them of the administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with traditional rulers, emphasizing their critical role in addressing security challenges and fostering community development across the state.
The Honourable Commissioner further assured the delegation that their requests, particularly regarding the provision of utility vehicles, would be presented for consideration and approval by His Excellency, the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani.

Kaduna Hosts NISS Delegation on Security Study Tour.

The Kaduna State Ministry of Local Government Affairs has received a high-level delegation from the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) as part of an ongoing study tour by participants of the Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC) 19, Syndicate 4.
The delegation was received on behalf of the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mahmud Lawal, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Kaduna.
The visit forms part of the participants’ field research focused on the course theme, “Ethnic Militias and Resource Competition: Implications for National Security.” Kaduna State is being used as a case study to enable participants to gain practical insights into security challenges and response mechanisms at the sub-national level.
The team, led by Uduak Ituen, fsi, fdmss, was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Internal Security, who are facilitating engagements with key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across the state.
In his remarks, Dr. Lawal, representing the Honourable Commissioner, commended the Institute for selecting Kaduna State as a case study and acknowledged the importance of the Ministry of Local Government Affairs in grassroots security management.
He highlighted the critical role of local government structures in addressing insecurity, noting that the state leverages traditional institutions—including Emirs, Chiefs, District Heads, and Village Heads—across the 23 Local Government Areas to strengthen intelligence gathering, community engagement, and conflict resolution.
The engagement provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange and underscored Kaduna State Government’s commitment to collaborative approaches in tackling security challenges.

Permanent Secretary Receives APC-PPR Kaduna State Chapter on Biogas Initiative
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mahmud Lawal, received in audience members of the APC-PPR Kaduna State Chapter in his office.
The visit was aimed at discussing and presenting a proposal on a Biogas Waste-to-Wealth Project, which seeks to train 1,000 women and youths across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State. The initiative is designed to promote environmental sustainability, economic empowerment, and alternative energy solutions through the conversion of waste into usable biogas.
In his remarks, Dr. Lawal warmly welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative. He assured the team of the Ministry’s full support, particularly in facilitating collaboration with Local Government Councils across the state. He emphasized that the Ministry, under the able leadership of the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, remains committed to programs that enhance grassroots development and empower communities.
The delegation was led by Hajiya Mariya Musa Imam, Secretary of APC-PPR, and included Alhaji Aliyu Dabo, Yahaya Muhammed, and Dzuvamah Abdu Gaya.
