Today, I arrived in Beijing, China, at the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to advance and conclude high-level discussions on the establishment of the Model Integrated Poultry Development Project in Kaduna State. This visit builds on the fruitful engagement I held with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Ambassador Yu Dunhai, at our Kaduna State Liaison Office in Abuja on 5 November 2025.
I am joined on this mission by a Federal Government delegation led by the Director-General of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegba. Our joint presence underscores the national importance of this transformative agricultural initiative.
This project, valued at approximately USD $200 million, will be one of the most ambitious poultry enterprises in West Africa. Once operational, it is expected to generate more than USD $450 million annually and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs across the poultry value chain. It will significantly strengthen food security, drive agro-industrialisation, expand export potential, and position Kaduna State as a leading hub of modern agribusiness on the continent.
During my engagements here, I will meet with China Communications Construction Company and other major players across China’s agricultural value-chain ecosystem to deepen technical cooperation and secure long-term investment commitments.
Kaduna State remains firmly committed to attracting transformative, world-class investments that expand economic opportunities, especially for our youth, and uplift the living conditions of our people.
I extend my profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for selecting Kaduna State as the pilot location for this landmark project, and to the Chinese Government for their unwavering trust and partnership.
