“And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,” (Mark 5: 22)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of Jairus, who was one of the rulers of the synagogue. In bible times, there was a perception by many Jews that Jesus would simply appear from the heavens, rather than being born the way He was born. The birth of Jesus was contrary to their ideas, but they did not stop Jesus from manifesting. Jesus came forth in a way that did not please them, but it didn’t stop Jesus from being all that He became.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you may not fit their bill but you will manifest the greatness that God Himself destined for you. You may not fit the idea of the men around you, but your rising will not be hindered. Your advancement will not be cut short because of men who do not like you. Your congratulations will not be swallowed on account of men who imagine that you do not look like one who should become great.

Jairus was amongst the rulers of the synagogue that believed that Jesus was not truly the Messiah; but in a matter of time, He had no option but to seek Jesus when his daughter was at the point of death. The manifestation of Jesus was so undeniable that even those who should not believe Him later believed in Him. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the same men who have written you off will come back to look for what you have in you.

Don’t lose sleep on account of men who underrate you. Don’t lose your peace because of men who believe that you do not fit their idea of someone who should be great. Don’t lose focus on account of men around you who have watched you from when you were a nobody and can simply not accept that you have become somebody. If they don’t believe you, they will eventually believe when they see God at work in you.

Focus on God and forget your naysayers and mockers. You were not created to fit into someone’s idea. You were made to fit into God’s plan and purpose for you.

Psalm 41: 11 says: “By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.”

Declare With Me: I may not fit their idea of greatness, but I will manifest greatness, in Jesus’ name!

Nigerian twin sisters, Taiwo and Kehinde Oluyale have both bagged first class Degrees at the Federal University of Technology, Akure in Ondo state in Building Technology with Taiwo emerged as the best graduating student at the school for the year 2021 and had a CGPA of 4.89. Congrats to them!
