SHEHU SANI'S LATEST HYPOCRISY

Throughout his stay in the Senate, Shehu Sani was quiet on the court trials of Ibrahim Zakzaky. He could not move a single motion on the matter.
But having been roundly defeated in the 2019 elections and is today desperately seeking relevance, he is asking the Federal Government to handover Zakzaky to the Sultan, which suggests he has forgotten the difference between a Court of Law and Sultanate.

PETITION AGAINST SEN. SHEHU SANI IN RESPECT OF THE ENTITLEMENTS OF HIS FORMER SENIOR LEGISLATIVE AIDE, OUR LATE BROTHER HON. RABIU KHALID

On behalf of our family members I wish to draw your attention to the wicked and inhumane treatment meted on our late brother Hon. Rabiu Khalid, by his former boss, Senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th senate from June 2015 to June 2019.

Our late brother Hon. Rabiu Khalid used to be a very close associate of Shehu Sani, this is evident in the fact that throughout his political sojourn between 2003 to 2015, Shehu Sani contested three different election in 2003 under Aliance for Democracy (AD), 2011 under the CPC, and in 2015 under the APC. In all the aforementioned elections, Shehu Sani vied for the Kaduna Central Senatorial seat and in all of them our late brother Hon. Rabiu Khalid was his Campaign Director General.

After losing out in previous attempts, in 2015 Shehu Sani finally achieved his long time ambition of clinching the senatorial seat of Kaduna Central. In appreciation of his long term sacrifices and contributions to his success, Shehu Sani appointed our late brother Hon. Rabiu Khalid as his Senior Legislative Aide (SLA) with a promise of securing accommodation for him in Abuja to ease his stress of travelling to and fro Abuja daily.

Signs of disenfranchisement started emerging when a month into his tenure, specifically in July 2015, Shehu Sani directed our brother, late Hon. Rabiu Khalid to be sharing his monthly salary and allowances with some of his (Shehu Sani) aides based in Kaduna. One among these people is one Aliyu Ibrahim (aka Shalama), who is still alive and can testify to this.
Even though he wasn’t happy with the arrangement, our late brother complied and subsequently started sharing his monthly pay with some of Shehu Sani’s aides.

The crack in their relationship grew wider when Shehu Sani renaged in his promise to secure apartment for late Hon. Rabiu Khalid. Our brother was left with the options of either going to Abuja from Kaduna and coming back on daily basis or staying in hotels in Abuja. Depending on how buoyant he is at any particular time. Late Hon. Rabiu Khalid travelled to Abuja from Kaduna on daily basis or sometimes had to sleep in his car at the mercy of the atmospheric condition at that time. This led to him developing some ailments including pneumonia. Sometime in 2017, the sickness became so serious that he had to be admitted into a hospital. While our brother was on his hospital bed, his boss, Shehu Sani never for once visited him or contributed in any way to offset the huge medical bills. In fact, the present Kaduna central senator, Senator Uba Sani was the one who assisted the family during their time of need. As if what Shehu Sani did wasn’t bad enough, our brother told us that his monthly salary had stopped coming. He called one of his colleagues in Abuja by name Dan Asabe, to find out what was happening. After dodging the inquiries for some time, Dan Asabe later told late Hon. Rabiu Khalid it was a problem between NASS and the bank, that it will soon be rectified. It was later that we got to discover that it was actually Shehu Sani who ordered for the account not to be credited again.

After battling with the ailment for over a year our brother gave up the ghost on 10th July, 2018.

We wish to make it categorically clear that here was never a time Shehu Sani communicated our brother either in writing or verbally that his appointment as his Senior Legislative aide has been terminated. To the best of our knowledge, up until his death, our late brother Hon. Rabiu Khalid was the Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Shehu Sani.

Consequently, we are praying that you use your good office to compel Shehu Sani to
Make available the over one year salaries and entitlements of our late brother
For Shehu Sani to tell us where about of our late brother’s severance package.

We hope our complaint will be given the desired attention as soon as possible.
