STSB RECRUITMENT: CIVIL SERVANTS’ REPRESENTATIVES CONTACT GOVERNMENT OFFICES OVER DELAYED APPOINTMENT LETTERS
On 22 July 2026, Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, launched the presentation of appointment letters to newly recruited teachers and other education personnel in the state. However, newly recruited teachers under the Science and Technical Schools Board (STSB) are still awaiting their appointment letters, according to information made available to our platform.
While teachers under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSSMB) have reportedly received their appointment letters, the affected STSB teachers are still waiting for theirs.
In an effort to obtain clarification, representatives of Kano State civil servants contacted the relevant government offices on 17 October 2026, between 5:43 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., to inquire about the delay and find out why the affected teachers had yet to receive their appointment letters.
One representative reportedly contacted a female official at the Office of the Head of Civil Service and explained the issue in Hausa. However, the call ended without an explanation.
Another representative also contacted the office and spoke with a male official in English, explaining the concerns surrounding the pending appointment letters. However, no reason was provided during the conversation.
In a separate effort, another representative contacted the Science and Technical Schools Board directly to seek clarification, but the inquiry also ended without a clear explanation regarding the delay.
Following these contacts, the representatives have yet to receive an official explanation from either office concerning the status of the appointment letters.
The situation has left the affected STSB teachers awaiting clarification about their employment status and when they might receive their appointment letters.
With the representatives having made these inquiries without obtaining a clear answer, attention is now turning to the Kano State Government, particularly Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, for possible intervention and clarification.
This concludes our statement on the matter. The next step rests with the relevant authorities and the Kano State Government.
