**Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Women Affairs, Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua, Attends Launch and Distribution of Starter Pack Support to 110 Women from 55 Communities**
The Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs, **Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua**, participated in the **Launching and Distribution of Starter Pack Support to 110 Women from 55 Communities**. The event, hosted by **Her Excellency, Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Umaru Radda**, the First Lady of Katsina State, marked another significant step toward women’s empowerment in the region.
The program, sponsored by **IFAD-CASP Sustainability**, was led by **Hajiya Hauwa Gambo**, State Programme Officer, and **Professor Ahmed Muhammed Makori**, Honorable Commissioner for Agriculture & Livestock Development. The initiative seeks to provide the necessary tools and support to help women improve their livelihoods and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
In her goodwill message, **Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua** congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to utilize the resources wisely for their personal and community development.”It is a privilege to stand before you today at this significant event as we come together to celebrate a momentous milestone in the journey toward the empowerment of our women across Katsina State. Today, we are not just launching a distribution of materials, but a future filled with hope, progress, and opportunity for 110 deserving women from 55 communities”She stated..

Her Excellency, Hajia Zulaihat Dikko Umar Radda, also delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the women to take full advantage of the support provided to enhance their socio-economic status.

**Commissioner for Women Affairs, Katsina, Visits Federal Medical Center Daura and Emir of Daura**
Katsina…. In a remarkable show of empathy and support for women and patients in Daura, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Katsina State, Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua along with the Permanent Secretary Alhaji Nura Murlata and staff of the ministry, paid a visit to the Federal Medical Center (FMC) Daura on 6th,September 2024. The visit, aimed at extending assistance and offering support, was met with warm reception by the hospital Management Staff and the wife of the Honourable Speaker, Katsina State House of Assembly, Hajia Saffa along with her team.
Upon arrival at the hospital, the Honourable Yar’adua was greeted by the FMC Daura staff and was quickly engaged in discussions with patients in the maternity and postnatal wards. During her visit, she generously provided financial assistance and distributed mosquito nets to the patients. Additionally, in a heartfelt gesture, the Commissioner personally settled surgery bills for several patients in need, bringing relief to many families facing financial strain.
The Honourable Commissioner then proceeded to visit His Royal Highness, the Emir of Daura Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, who has long been a paternal figure in her life. Deeply moved by the condition of the patients she had encountered at the hospital, the Commissioner became emotional during her conversation with the Emir, shedding tears as she expressed her concerns and sympathy. The Emir, in turn, praised her for her compassion and tireless efforts, describing her as one of the best commissioners who truly cares for the welfare of women. His Royal Highness commended her for her consistent dedication and assured her of his continued support.
The Commissioner’s visit concluded at the residence of the Honourable Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, where she was warmly welcomed by the Speaker’s wife Hajia Saffa. Along with the ministry’s staff, the Commissioner enjoyed a lunch hosted at the Speaker’s residence, marking the end of a successful and emotional day of outreach and support.
This visit underscores the Ministry of Women Affairs’ unwavering commitment to addressing the needs of women and the vulnerable in society, especially in the health sector.

**Commissioner for Women Affairs Visits Youth Craft Village to Champion Youth Empowerment and Skill Development**
Katsina…The Honorable Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Hadiza Abubakar Yar’adua , made a significant visit to the Youth Craft Village, a leading institution dedicated to vocational training and youth empowerment. The visit aimed to underscore the Ministry’s commitment to fostering skill development and economic independence among young people.
The Commissioner was warmly received by the Coordinator of the Youth Craft Village, Engr. Kabir Abdullahi Kofar Soro, who provided a comprehensive overview of the village’s activities and its role in equipping young people with essential vocational skills.
During the visit, Honorable Yaradua toured all 11 departments at the Youth Craft Village, each offering specialized training programs designed to enhance the employability and entrepreneurial skills of young men and women. These departments include:
1. **Catering** - where students are trained in various aspects of culinary arts, including cooking, baking, and hospitality management.
2. **Computer** - focusing on digital skills, computer literacy, and programming.
3. **Plumbing** - providing hands-on training in plumbing techniques and maintenance.
4. **Beauty Salon** - teaching skills in hairdressing, makeup, and other beauty services.
5. **Welding** - offering instruction in metalwork, fabrication, and welding techniques.
6. **Auto Mechanical** - covering the repair and maintenance of automotive engines and systems.
7. **Auto Electrical** - specializing in the electrical systems of vehicles, including diagnostics and repairs.
8. **Film and Photo** - nurturing creativity in photography, videography, and digital media production.
9. **Leather Shoes and Bags** - training students in crafting leather products, such as shoes and bags.
10. **Pottery** - offering courses in ceramic arts, including pottery making, glazing, and sculpting.
11. **Tailoring** - focusing on garment construction, sewing, and fashion design.
Throughout the tour, the Commissioner engaged with students from various departments, discussing their training experiences and future ambitions. She praised their dedication and resilience, encouraging them to continue pursuing their passions and utilizing their skills to create positive impacts within their communities. "The skills you are acquiring here are not just for today, but for building a sustainable future. Your hard work and creativity are key to achieving success and contributing to our society," she remarked.
The Commissioner also commended the Youth Craft Village for its holistic approach to vocational training, emphasizing its crucial role in promoting economic empowerment and reducing youth unemployment. She reiterated the Ministry of Women Affairs’ support for such initiatives, particularly those that empower young women and promote gender equality.
Concluding her visit, the Commissioner called for greater collaboration between government agencies, vocational training institutions, and the private sector to further expand opportunities for youth skill development and entrepreneurship. "Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous future for our youth," she concluded.
